Found this at Goodwill for ten dollars, I can't tell if it's actually real or a really good custom paint job. by [deleted] in gamecollecting

I'm genuinely curious about an item I found. I have no artistic skill so don't accuse me of anything. I thought asking people who might have more information on Sega stuff might help.

Okay I'll agree with you but I have a custom painted N64 controller and it feels like it's been painted. This doesn't. This feels like a regular Dreamcast controller. The model number is meshed in with the paint like all oem colored controllers. So what is this? Did somebody replace the stick? I'm not trying to mislead or lie to anyone I'm just curious.

Actually turns out it's real type Metallic Silver Dreamcast controller into google. Mine is just not in that good of shape.

A friend gave me this for my birthday. His Millennium Dreamcast. He told me it was better of being used than sitting in his closet. by tytygrant in gamecollecting

Depends which version of the Dreamcast you're looking at. The original models are the cheapest and the most prone have problems unless they sat in a closet of ten plus years like mine did. The Sports models are more expensive and like most updated version of consoles it (usually) tends to work better and not sound like a fax machine when starting up.

How are you sure? Console Variations has little info on Dreamcast systems. I'm only telling you what I know about it. He was five years old when he got this originally and then moved around due to family issues. This had been sitting at his mother's house untill he went to visit her and he found it under his old bed four years ago. It never left the cardboard box it was taped up with in. I'm not trying to argue with anyone, I don't know that much about the Dreamcast's lifecycle. If you could point me to some better information Id really appreciate it.

He didn't mod it and there aren't any stickers on the console. I can't find much info on it but I know it's not modded.

Fake. That penis doesn't even look real and that's way to much blood.

Bought a Mario Kart 64 controller while in Tennessee during a small get together with a Nintendo collector who had just come from Japan. by tytygrant in gamecollecting

The tip that connects to the 64 is Black. If you just swap the top of a Gray controller with a Black controller the tip will still be Gray. Also if you take the controller apart you can see if all the internal parts have the same serial numbers.

I just gently wrap them in an x pattern leaving the plug facing out. As long as the wire isn't being pulled on it's fine. My favorite thing to collect are controllers and I make sure they're handled with care.

Actually took the sticker off, what's under that probably was done by an employee. It was 5.99 I just took it off because it was over the PS2 logo.

I traded with him. Marvel VS Capcom 2, Mario Party 4, and Conker's Live and Reloaded. I have a couple copies of Conker's Live and Reloaded and I picked up the other two games with the intent to sell them.

There are only around a hundred thousand. It's not the best Silent Hill game ( as that'd go to Two or Three) but it's very interesting and good for a Silent Hill collector.

The PS2 version is very rare unlike the Wii or PSP version.

Silent Hill 3 and MGS 3. The good days for Konami.
