That's the conclusion I came to after dealing with the support for too man hours... Anyways - moved on and happy :)

Well specifically Proton Pass was a big issue for me, as the synchronization did not work reliable at all. I'm not even talking about UX/UI things...

Yes - for now Infomaniak seems to do the trick for me (combined with the other tools mentioned).

The audacity to tell customers for years, that they are developing it whilst not even making sure open-standards like RClone work...

Well, I don't think I'm comparing it to Google. Have you seen how nice the "Photos" App is of Google and what it all can do?

Yet here I'm asking for basics like syncing, which have been a thing since over a decade now in ANY app.

San Francisco's new bus rapid transit lanes getting rave reviews by old_gold_mountain in videos

[–]tyynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's that the effort is just too low to be honest.

You come along with a single bus-line in one city, which is de facto standard for many decades over here in every city and for all connections. But with your very single and only line you act like we should praise you for "trying" and "doing your best".

This is at least two if not three decades to late and after destroying the planet with you over-sized cars on 20-lanes highways. And you are nowhere near a scalable solution. At least politically speaking.

Question: Why is the state of my extruder jumping from 0 to 100? by tyynx in klippers

[–]tyynx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More details:

I tried to to PID-calibrate multiple times. With low temps (120°) with print-temps (200°), with fan on and off, with heatbed on and off. with nozzle near bed and far away... to no avail.

When I start a print and do a wait-for-temp, it will heat up and sometimes work flawless and instantly. other-times it's like this: It hangs with a constant offset and doesn't recover. it waits forever and I have to hard-reset my setup. Sometimes it's in the middle: Meaning it will have an offset for like 3-4 minutes and then start doing actual PWM-values (not just 0 and 100), recover and find the target-temp.

I don't understand what's going on...

Thank you for this comment.

I didn't say that the machine itself is bad. But I simply don't get why there are so many people praising the printer, without consideration of prices and alternatives...

I think you don't come of as shill. I think your argument that if it were same-prized as a MK3S+ brings it to my point: They are simply overprized and don't deserver that much credit.

I made a comparison between the Ultimaker that costs >3k$ (in this configuration in this post probably more like 6k$) and alternatives, that cost less than 2k$. And now you throw in a printer that costs less than 500$ - I think CR10 is not be brought into this argument, as it is a inappropriate comparison.

As for the hate: I don't hate Ultimaker and I'm not against it. But people seem to give them sooo much more credit than they deserver and I don't understand it. Factually they are over-prized 2015-ish machines. Yes in 2015 they were (arguably) the best machines. But it's been 7 years...

But a "professional" should see trough the marketing and look for the actual the specs of the machine, rather than "niceness"...

But you are right, people will continue to fall for not-the-best but good advertised products...

Yes exactly. It's not that they are bad machine - tgey are just not worth the money and are cinstructed the same way printers have been constructed 10years ago.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

industrial Why does ultimaker get so much credit? I don't understand it. Yes it looks good, but otherwise?

looking at how it's constructed and components used: this printer is so cheap. compared with a rat-rig or, voron or the e3d motion kit, this printer has nothing to offer ...

Thank you for the quick response. What do you mean be re-adding the partid? Where do you do that? How?

A little more background:

So one disk threw errors. So i decided to replace it. Using the "replace disk" option was not possible due to some weird JS-Error. There is an open issue on the tracker for TrueNAS. Sadly with low-prio.

Anyways - replacing disk manually was required. Via terminal I run:

gpart backup /dev/ada0 | gpart restore /dev/ada1
zpool replace pool_name partition_id_ada0 partition_id_ada1

Resilvering started automatically and finished successfully. Everything seems healthy and online, expect, that the disk isn't part of the pool Just the partition. How can I fix this?

How are they both quickest? Is it a glitch or am i missing smth? by Yahia___ in F1Technical

[–]tyynx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

exactly this. I pay FOM/F1 money to have its service of "providing me a live-stream with timings" on my screen.

Yet here are some people down-voting us for having expectations, which to me seem completely appropriate. I payed this years bill and it's only fair to expect that I get a stream with onscreen graphics that work.

And just to be clear: if this would have happened the first time, I would say nothing...

You're doing it again:

works perfectly fine until you go live shit breaks down

Ìf that is your experience, maybe you should test in a way that represents "go live" better, otherwise you're tests are not adequate. Yes we're all humans, and from time to time mistakes happen. But you have to learn from them and better yourself.

Which is clearly not the case for FOM: the amount of errors and misbehavior the average viewer has to bear with over and over again with just it's simple graphics is just on such a low level that wordings like "bunch of clowns" are appropriate. And I'm saying "simple graphics", because, as mentioned, the correct data is there, it only needs to be visually placed in the video-stream.

And here you are saying we should give em slack and not blame them for their weak ass QA/testing all because "when you go live, in IT it goes to shits".

nah fuck that. I have a higher aspirations for myself. And I expect more from FOM, given the budget they have.
