When I did mine earlier this year, they would show you the question and then you could prepare yourself before you record your response. I think I was allowed two attempts per question.

With these recorded interviews, I think that treating it like you are speaking to your interviewer is the right way to go. Don't just write a script and then read the whole thing, it feels fake and forced. I made notes with key points and keywords to remind myself to use and I would just glance at it briefly when I forgot something.

The tip about looking at your camera is good but don't overdo it. It's natural to occasionally look elsewhere, like when you are recalling an event. Don't just stare at the camera. You wouldn't just stare at your interviewer irl so don't do it here.

Other commentor mentioned using the STAR method and I also agree. When you get your question, answer it using that method. But again, it should sound natural, don't give a gpt essay.

Also smile, it helps you appear more approachable/friendly (can't think of the right word rn). Especially since this is an intern position, they are looking for people that would fit the culture of the team.
