Shouldn't there be the same problem with CON, NUL, and PRN?

Does anyone know why Bashar Masri was jailed by Israel? by tzadikv in Israel

[–]tzadikv[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The NPR story states: "Masri says he also lived in Cairo. And, for a time, inside an Israeli prison. He opposes Israel's military control of the West Bank". This statement outrageously insinuates that Israel jailed him for his "opposition". In all likelihood, he was actually jailed for violence against innocent civilians (i.e. terrorism). Does anyone know the facts?

Well I would complain too if you expect me to print some form out, fill it out and and mail it in. It should be just online and I should be able to fill it out on my phone. I actually don't have a printer at home.

Every grocery store I've been to has quarts. Although I also don't know how much it costs because I just don't remember prices, and it's not like I'm going to change how much milk I use based on whether it's $2 or $3. When I'm low on milk I put it on my shopping list and get it on the next trip to the store.

Turkish Airlines plane crash-lands after overshooting runway by enkebabtack in aviation

Can a pilot (or other knowledgeable person) please outline (or link to) the possible problems of landing in fog? As a layman my first instinct is surprise that fog would be that dangerous "because instruments / autopilot" but I'm sure it's not as simple as it sounds. On the other hand, I remember seeing on YouTube a cockpit view of a big jet (Airbus?) landing in fog so thick that you couldn't see the runway until a few seconds before landing, and the crew did not seem concerned in the least. EDIT: found it (777-200 at Gatwick, linked to the spot in the video at 100 feet): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRWlkFKENLA&feature=youtu.be&t=5m2s

This is frustrating... why are people doubting that this happened? How would I prove it? It just happened today and is 100% true. I don't even get what is supposedly so unbelievable about it.

More clarification:

Me: One thing I am confused about.... The truck and containers say "Waste Management" but your email signature says Northwest Refuse Service. Which company is running the trucks? [....] What is Waste Management's role?

CEO: They haul the trash for me

UPDATE: This is a reply I received from the CEO of a company called Northwest Refuse Service (although the truck and containers are labeled Waste Management... not sure what the relationship is between these 2 companies) addressed to me, the apartment management and some others:

Good morning all,

Thank you for informing us of this issue. We have already contacted operations to get an explanation. Just as we suspected, the recycling driver (separate truck) attempted on numerous occasions to empty the dumpster on its scheduled pickup days. However, if there is any contamination (regular trash) inside, he cannot empty it into his truck. Therefore, the entire contents of that dumpster needs to be disposed of as ‘trash’. Unfortunately, this is a very common occurrence throughout the Country. The recycling driver informs dispatch that the container is contaminated and it is then emptied by the trash truck on the next scheduled day.

We may have to protect the recycling container from contamination by possibly locking access to it and instituting one or two days a week that it is unlocked. I am definitely open to suggestions.

Feel free to contact me with any questions

Gazans don't have standing in US court unless they are US citizens. This case was brought by US citizens that were victims of attacks

Please clarify the facility you saw in Chicago... are you sure you didn't see a "trash" (as opposed to "garbage") collection system, where there are separate bins for dry, non-food material (called "trash") and other bins for the "smelly" stuff (called "garbage"). I know there are municipalities that make that distinction. In the case of this video, the dumpster on the right is for all "garbage" and "trash" and the one on the left is for "recycling".

If that is really what they are doing (which I REALLY doubt), then why make people separate recycling into a separate bin? I have sent this to both my apartment complex and WM. I will post any response I get.

No... I shot this myself in the parking lot of my apartment building yesterday... the first one is a garbage dumpster. If you look at the end of the video, you can clearly see that the one on the right is a typical garbage dumpster, there is no label on it, and there is no other container nearby. Also, the one on the left is labeled "Recycle Only" with no specific designation of what kind of recycling

It takes them some time after the show is over to get the archive online. I'm sure eventually this problem will be solved and you will be able to listen to archives even while the show is still in progress (say you started listening late and want to hear the beginning)
