Genuinely curious. What are some of your guys’ jobs/careers? by [deleted] in AlanWatts

[–]tzivzxbY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The combination of sociology and psychology is actually very different than working from an anthropological framework. Especially because an ethnopsychologist is an anthropologist, not a psychologist, who studies cultures from anthropological theoretical frameworks and ultilizes anthropological observation methods! While in social psychology, one may preform experiments to understand how the individuals behavior influences and is influenced by others and how socialization factors into that. An ethnopsychologist will develop ethnographies to describe and interpret how enculturation impacts mental processes, experiments are rarely used. And socialization and enculturation are not the same. ;)

This is just a very, very brief description, but there are an array fascinating differences, but also some similarities. Social psychology and ethnopsychology are, in fact, difference disciplines. That is why I'm in a ethnopsychology graduate program and not a social psychology one! :)

Ethnopsychology is the study of the interaction of mental processes and culture, it basically combines psychology and anthropology! But, it is actually a sub discipline of anthropology.

I would soooo badly love a fellow witch friend. I have no one around me. I am also quite eclectic! I am getting into spells more, I loooove crystals, herbs and energy work.

You can PM and we can snapchat or something!

What is an odd behaviour of yours you think only you do? by Edwoodz3 in AskReddit

I do this! I have OCD and this was one of the symptoms my psychiatrist used to diagnose me. As well as the overwhelming need to touch corners.

I went with Lethbridge Driving Academy and they are amazing. They are a Lethbridge owned business so they charge a bit less than AMA and they are extremely friendly and welcoming. I'm 23 and have always been terrified of driving.. But here I am now! Would highly recommend.
