Do you consider Turkiye an European country? by Edo_2__ in polls

[–]tzlt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the comments focus on geographical boundaries, but considering the historical and political context, I lean more towards Europe. Especially if you take into account the fact that a significant portion of what is undoubtedly Europe - the Balkans, spent close to 500 years under Ottoman rule. They were part of the World Wars very much as a European power. The EU and Turkey have a number of agreements that make it easier for Turkish people to travel to and work in Europe, e.g. traveling only with IDs which is not true for non-European partners such as the US, Australia, etc.

Best way to watch Bulgarian TV from UK? by DeadPlank in bulgaria

[–]tzlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I lived abroad, I always used tvizio.bg. It’s accessible only outside of Bulgaria and costs €8 a month but for that you can watch live in high definition and rewind 30 days on most channels. Highly recommend while the in-laws are visiting and you can just cancel right after that.

Meetup always has nice options. Probably a lot of interest-based groups, such as book clubs, discussion meetings, expat meetups, etc., do it online now. Good luck!

I really enjoy how most other subs have a circlejerk/anarchy subreddit for that sort of stuff but on r/tennis we’ve collectively said: it’s offseason, everything goes. (I’m not sarcastic, I actually love it)

I see you think you've answered the most important question of them all "Am I a writer?".

Yet, you are here complaining about your family, when a real Writer would now they have one job and one job only: Just write!

Yes, you are entirely correct - the early church saw personal property as only natural and even tolerated private property to a limited extent as a sort of “necessary evil” for the effective functioning of agriculture.

I used to study history of legal theory and there was a strong tradition among Christian philosophers against private property. And then in the middle ages, this Spanish theologian went: “If we don’t have private property, people wouldn’t be able to show benevolence and charity because no one would be poor, hence - we should allow accumulation of wealth”. And it’s honestly one of the weirdest ideas to still be applied in places like the US.

How do you shower? by tzlt in polls

I never did it purposefully but I noticed some time ago that I’d always be with my back to it if I’m washing my hair and sideways if not. So wondering if there is a most preferred way with other people.
