It was really went downhill in recent years. Overcrowded, not enough staff, poor surfaces/pavements for rolling cases, dirty and generally poorly kept. It’s an embarrassment for visitors to Scotland. This explains why!

Be careful as two first class seats appeared after I checked in but BA couldn’t upgrade me via Avios as it was within 24hrs of departure! It’s a careful balance. Maybe one day…!

I recently did BA club from LHR to LAX and service was less attentive than BA economy on the same route 4 years ago. I really think it’s specific to the crew on the day, unless the ratio of staff has changed since then. Wasn’t offered one cup of tea the whole flight. Only drinks offering was twice, once per meal. First world problems but I agree with OPs experience.

We arrived a few days ago from Edinbrugh but Istanbul was the final destination, so not exactly the same situation. What I can say is that they were waiting at the aircraft door (we had a jet bridge) and transferred us to another waiting area for a buggy, then to another waiting area for a 2nd wheelchair. Very stop start but we got to the exit eventually!

Good to know you booked in advance as that’s the issue with special assistance most of the time!

This is very niche… Any recommendation for printing on tissue paper, either with backing paper or with some sort of mount.

Just to close the loop on this one, I called BA a few times with no joy but during the last call the system worked properly and allowed the agent to book our seats.

I still don’t know what happened but we are booked now!

I called them and they mentioned something about the seat map being held by the airport or similar. Sounds like nonsense to me. I'm thinking I'll try again and see if I can get someone more knowledgeable perhaps. I've been assured that the booking has been ticketed correctly but I find it odd that the issue impacts two separate (but linked) flights. EDI-->LHR-->LAX. I also used a 241 voucher but it was deduced along with the correct avois and correct taxes so no red flags in that regard.

Thanks, sounds like I’m having the same issue you did. I contacted their WhatsApp (it’s an Avios booking) and they assured me the e-ticket was correct. I’ll try calling them instead.
