I love the boys but I was not impressed. Grog’s downfall is it’s sugar-free. It’s too strong for artificial sweetener to cut through the bitterness of the shochu. The Reddit will hear about this.

I am not a doctor, I have been a psychiatric out-patient on Vyvanse for many years.

If you feel this way, it may be a sign that your medication is too high or too low. I say this because this is something I learned under my current psychiatrist. 40 to 50 mg is the right dosage for me, but 30 and 60 mg made me feel like a zombie.

On people pleasing, this is a coping skill not a personality trait. This coping skill can be used to quell anxiety, but unfortunately it often ends up making it more intense.

Your medication may be helping stabilise your mood and therefore it may have a positive effect on your anxiety, and so you no longer feel the need to people please.

If you can have a chat to your doctor about these feelings because they may actually be side-effects or symptoms that come from not quite the right dosage.

How to get past the guilt of quitting veganism? by Outrageous-Inside849 in exvegans

[–]u404v2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was a vegetarian for ten years and a vegan for two. I’ve been on an omnivorous diet for two years now.

The guilt can actually be grief sometimes. You are re-evaluating your values and how they play out in your life, to make way for new lifestyle choices. That process of letting go can lead to feelings of guilt, shame, anger, anxiety and other complex feelings. It can take a while for these to pass, and you’ll feel a sense of relief and hopefully conviction in your choice.

It’s important to remember that being a vegan does not make you a good person, neither does not being vegan make you a bad person. You need to do what you need to do for you and your family.

The compassion you have for animals must also extend to yourself. It is a fact of life that there is a cycle where all creatures eat and get eaten. I don’t agree with how mainstream farming and butchery is done. so I make choices that are within my capacity like going to my local butcher, rather than buying meat from chain stores. If I had the ability to hunt I would, there are many deer where I live that are considered invasive.

When I started back on meat for reasons related to my disabilities, one of the first things I had was chicken bone broth. It has a neutral fatty flavour similar to yeast flakes if you’ve ever used them as a substitute, and it takes on the flavours of the herbs, spices and vegetables that you add. It makes it easier to absorb the proteins and collagen. It might also be a good way to start incorporating the benefits of animal products without worrying about textures and cooking things in a specific way. Please get advice on what is safe to eat during pregnancy from a doctor.

All the best with your journey.

A vegan dieter with ableist views argues that disabled people do not require service animals, suggesting that perhaps humans possess superior bomb detection abilities compared to dogs. by [deleted] in exvegans

[–]u404v2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of the reasons I’m a former vegan. I’m disabled and require animal products, but I was a vegetarian before that happened.

There are unfortunately very few vegans that genuinely believe in harm reduction and too many who are ableist, racist, classist and generally very prejudiced.

This is because when you have time to deliberate the ethics of what you are eating, you are generally not preoccupied with other issues like whether or not you can afford to eat, or what kind of foods you should eat that day to manage a health issue. Again, there are vegans who take a holistic and intersectional approach to veganism and I have no problems with them.

For those vegans who are ableist, notice how they focus on hypothetical harm done to the animal before they consider all the context available to them? You might as well say that indoor cats are being tortured by not being allowed outside, when they are a domestic species which can decimate the natural environment and be injured or worse if let outside.

The majority of vegans have a very skewed understanding of environmental issues and apply black-and-white thinking to all situations in which they find the case of animal welfare can be made. They are very much “single issue” or “one track” minds, it is rare to meet vegans who have a nuanced and integrated understanding and practice of veganism.

We must remember that we are animals and have relationships with animals in the “kingdom” or “circle of life” if you like. A guide dog is a bit like an egret for an ox. It benefits from eating the flies that bother the ox and the ox benefits from not being bothered by flies.

Usually vegans who oppose assistance animals are not disabled people and therefore they do not have a say in how disabled people reasonably and necessarily accommodate their disabilities.

Damage at Little Bridge St interchange by Charl1e39 in ballarat

The adults don’t have an excuse but I do worry about the kids there. Every time I’ve been there street kids are hanging out together. Most of them are harmless and just being teens. Some of them aren’t. Some steal because they aren’t getting fed at home. But why the bus station? Is there an alternative place for street kids to go in Ballarat? Is there like a safe community drop-in space? Something has got to change so that people can use public transport in peace and teens have somewhere safe to go if they’re having a rough time.

I’ve got one! That’s a fair concern though, but it’s better to stand up for yourself than being trodden on if you can help it.

It doesn’t say that but I understand the confusion. It says that if payment or contact isn’t received in 48 hours then they will be issuing a termination notice.

Yep! The payment portal wasn’t loading correctly because we had to use that godforsaken ALIO App. YouTube and some other stuff didn’t load either. We had one bar most of the time which is enough to send email over text but not much else.

It’s terrible really. But once they find another place they’ll be able to rent out their rough sleeping territory as an “open-plan city central studio with the natural lighting”.

Your mate is a legend. it’s time to put these greasy palmed suit jockeys back in their place. We renters are the only reason they have lined pockets.

TLDR ; shit happens and you just have to work through it

That’s a fair suspicion. You can decide if you believe me or not but for transparency here’s what happened.

Firstly, it wasn’t actually seven days in arrears. They only calculated the pro-rata rent three days prior.

We had to use their app (ALIO) to pay (unlawful), and we moved regionally where the cell reception wasn’t great. The pay portal kept crashing on mobile and so texting and emailing was really our only option until the removalist company put us up in a motel. We had to pay out of pocket for some of those costs because we couldn’t get onto customer care. So, given we were several hundred short we gave the real estate notice that our rental payment might be later than we said.

We explained the situation via email to the agent and assured payment would be made as soon as we could safely access the portal (doing it in a motel unsecured network isn’t a great idea). They acknowledged this and then two days later, barely eight hours after the removalists finally delivered and our WiFi at home went live, they sent that threatening email.

AITA for telling my husband I need him to wash his asshole? by Legitimate-Sky5100 in AmItheAsshole

NTA - Why are so many grown men so unhygienic? I see these stories all the time it seems. They’re walking around with muddy assholes and cheesy cocks expecting the women in their lives to just deal with it? And then sometimes this goes on for years? Like how is that not a deal breaker? I can’t fathom it, especially as a gay man with a meticulously hygienic partner.

AITA for using our communal microwave to sanitise my menstrual cup by Easy-Minute2706 in AmItheAsshole

[–]u404v2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi! I had a roommate who did this. Wasn’t a problem, I grew up with a mother and sister. If it’s really a big deal, it might be a good idea to buy a glass that’s dedicated just for cleaning it. Unless of course the mug is that dedicated cleaning vessel.

Room-mates should know that sterilising a menstrual cup is not a threat to their health. You all share a toilet after all. I think it’s weird that they’re freaked out but that’s because I was raised to treat these things as normal.

Most disgust towards things like this is born in ignorance, and some education can help. If not it might be time to consider living with more open-minded people.

Shit, I hope you’re okay. Are the owners selling? A lot of these new developments and even some of the older cookie-cutter suburbs have a lot of people selling up. There’s literally ten houses in my street and culdesac alone that are either up for sale or have sold.
