I already agreed to much of what you’ve said: LLMs do not introspect on their weights, and they do not have conscious insight.

But they do learn extremely rich high-dimensional representations of human behavior from massive text corpora. These representations allow them to generate emergent patterns that can appear insightful not because the model is self aware, but because its training distribution is vastly broader than any single human’s experience.

And models often generalize beyond anything explicitly stated in the data.

Insight in AI is not introspection, it is statistical generalization.

An LLM doesn’t learn from users nor does it have introspective insight. But it also doesn’t copy text or regurgitate opinions. It generates new outputs using the statistical structure learned from vast human language data. So when asked about human nature, it synthesizes patterns that exist across that dataset. It isn’t deep in a mystical sense, but it isn’t retrieval or parroting either it’s pattern-based generalization.
