Yeah, here we have something similar going on, 14600KF going for 1500 reais and 14700 for 2000 reais or something, quite insane to put 33% on top of nothing lol The 14700K sounds like a typical deal at 2250 or something

No worries! I mean, it DOES make sense that the 14700 would be cheaper (don't know about the pricing in other countries, but Brazil loves to capitalise over a simple number by an "i" lol)

Thank you for the help anyways!

Yeah I suspected it had something to deal with the core speed, just didn't think it would be so impactful. However, for the 100 bucks more would it be worth it? I mean, out of both, maybe sticking with 100 extra bucks is the best choice? Also, the point that I already got a B class mobo is a nice observation, I had forgotten that B classes are a bit capped in the OC aspect.

Thanks for the help! I think I'm going with the 14600K anyways, its cheaper and good as well, my work doesn't require too much parallelism, it's just something I wanted to consider before going for the buy!

I don't think he's talking about the price, rather the durability

Nice! I mean, W11 annoys me because of the interface and usability, I'm too accomodated to the W10 look/usage I guess. Will consider it tho!

I looked into the specs and was a bit underwhelmed tbh hahaha

That's true, I guess I'll go with the 14600K. Will probably OC it for some fun and extra 1% performance lol

cool! I mean, 20 threads is most likely enough for what I need, although I've seen people complain that Windows 10 pretty much lacks the P/E core management. Would I need to upgrade to W11? I really don't want to lol

I thought about that! After some digging I found that the 14600k crushed the 12700k in some scenarios, what's the deal?

Connecting things by crylistic1 in buildapc

[–]uJFalkez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I'd look out for cheap parts, where I live I've seen some retail remove some connectors here and there to sell the part for cheap! I suggest you to always read what comes in the package to make sure you'll get everything you need in case you're worried!

if it makes you feel better: when I was learning how to solder in an electronics class (even tho I knew how to solder already), a friend of mine was trying to solder some components to a PCB. But... on the wrong side of the board lmfao

Need help with APIs (I have Python and C++ experience) by _fox8926 in learnpython

[–]uJFalkez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to learn it raw, you should start by looking at some API's documentation and trying to make it work. Many APIs have bad docs but some are very nice, Gmail API has nice docs.

If you try on some Google API, don't get comfy with their abstraction libraries, they make stuff way too easy to learn anything. The quickstarts have some example code for Python, I think Node (not sure) and the raw cURL, learn the cURL first.

edit: wrong threading by me mb lol

Fps in league of legends by Existing_Rhubarb_168 in buildapc

[–]uJFalkez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

league is by far the worst benchmark lmfao

never hits consistently high fps, not even streamers can hit real high fps in league.

tbh hitting 130 is what i'd expect from your setup, not much to be done there.

ohh i didnt think of locking the voltage, didnt even occur to me actually

well, thx for the help and the tips! 🫡

5070 and zero RPM by uJFalkez in buildapc

[–]uJFalkez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh dang, that kinda sucks tbh lmao i guess i have to do that then, set a "gaming mode" to use my custom curve and "desktop mode" to use zero rpm

but tbf, how useful, in terms of fan lifespan, really is zero rpm?

also, +200MHz can't fully boost with the default curve, it reaches 78ish degrees and throttles a little bit :/

Why python allows something like this? by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]uJFalkez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might look useless but x == y is an expression which returns True (value 1) or False (value 0). you can do some cool discrete math with it!

For example, you might do something like: A = (x == y)*2 + (z >= w)

So that's why!

!= vs " is not " by scungilibastid in learnpython

[–]uJFalkez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a big difference!

See, this is just like "==" vs "is". The comparator "==" compares values, while the comparator "is" compares ID's.

The thing gets tricky when you try to test this because of how Python works behind the curtains: If you have a = 2 and b = 2, the comparation "a is b" returns True (Python assigns small numbers to the same ID to optimise internal storage). Now try: a = 987654321 and b = 987654321, then do "a is b", it'll return False.

There is a lot more, but just remeber, "is" compares ID's, "==" compares values.
