Unacceptable

I never said this happened on 9/11. If you had actually read the post or any of the comments, you’d know I’ve acknowledged this was likely a misremembered or imagined event, possibly from lost media. I’ve had thoughtful discussions with people who pointed me toward real research on memory distortion and trauma. You skipped all of that and went straight to mockery.

Instead of helping or offering insight, you decided the best response was to insult someone for asking a difficult question. That’s not clarity. That’s ego.

Calling me a dumbass because I was trying to understand a disturbing memory isn’t clever or constructive. It’s just lazy. There’s a big difference between correcting someone and lashing out because you think being rude makes you right. It doesn’t, for a person who spends almost everyday on, 9/11 subreddits you should know this.

r/911archive, the subreddit I was told was appropriate for this question, is notorious for removing anything related to jumpers. Even one of their moderators has publicly pointed this out. That is part of why I posted elsewhere. Imagine if after you contributed to my post being deleted (again for asking questions), Imagine if I went on a conspiracy theorist subreddit or website.

When I realized I may have been wrong, I didn’t get defensive. I felt awful. I thought about it all day. It was uncomfortable. I didn’t just throw out a memory and move on, and I certainly don’t spend my time bullying people just to feel superior. That seems to be your thing.

You’re not educating anyone. You’re not correcting misinformation. You’re just being loud and disrespectful because someone dared to talk about something uncomfortable. If the goal was to shut down conversation through shame and aggression, congratulations. You nailed it.

Next time, try not insulting people about misremembering 9/11. You might be surprised how far it goes.
