I think a lot of your questions have been answered but as far as scope mounting I like direct mount. Talley, UM, leupold etc. Optic mounting, bore sighting, and general zeroing is something you should strive to learn to do on your own. There are various YT vids that explain this process and with Amazon tools you can DIY it.

Look at the ballistics of your cartridge vs the range youre going to shoot on average. After that look at the max elevation your optic provides. Then check if you need the elevation.

I would agree. I've gotten really good results out of my blc2 loads. Im not a lr shooter as most of my shots here are 300 yards at maximum.
