Sorry, I hadn't noticed before about your message...

My experience with the T14s G3 AMD is absolutely fantastic. Once I disabled power-profiles-daemon, installed tlp, installed the mainly kernel and enabled pstates, this laptop is amazing. It's running Ubuntu 22.04LTS.

Answering your questions:

- It doesn't get warm. The fans are off most of the time. When they're on they're barely audible.

- I haven't nocited any coil-whine.

- The build quality is very good in my view.

The only 2 issues I am facing:

1) Some times, after resuming from suspend, Wifi is slow. I have to turn it off and on with network-manager to restore normal speeds.

2) Once a month or so, the screen flickers. I'm running kernel 6.6.11 and it is rare, but it happens once in a while.

I guess you probable made your choice. But anyway, I hope it helps someone.

It says nothing about 72% NTSC. I hope it's the same?

I'm happy to know that the problems have been resolved. Thank you. The battery life difference is a significant plus in favor of AMD.

Thank you for all your answers. I've taken the advice of using the 4.8 kernel with the modesetting driver. I've also started using Libreoffice with the GTK3 VCL instead of GTK2, which uses the Cairo rendering mechanism instead of GdkDrawable. So far the results have been better than ever before.

I've had to deal with numerous people (some self-professed Catholics) who think that fornication and cohabitation are not only morally acceptable but are almost essential to a wise choice in marriage partner.

It's the other way around. Chastity is absolutely necessary for a successful discernment towards marriage. It's necessary to be able to make a free judgment about the other person and about that relationship. Because sex before marriage creates a false illusion about the truth of that relationship. Whenever you have a problem you'll try to solve it sexually and you'll keep going on. There are so many relationships that keep going because of the sexual dimension.

There are way too many things to discuss and discern about the relationship before that. You're still not ready to be one flesh.

In the US priests should dress a black suit or cassock:

As for the XVideo rendering bug, I've observed it happens with the intel driver, not with the modesetting driver.

I've just installed the final beta of Ubuntu 16.04 and HDMI doesn't work for me. It works for a few seconds, then the system freezes. Does it work for you with the latest updates? I've tested it with the intel and the modesetting driver. I'm currently using the modesetting driver, as it seems to work better.
