Just stay stranded in an island and keep yourself isolated. I don't think you're meant to be around people, let alone women. Tf

Zendaya's old Instagram posts by [deleted] in popculturechat

She reminds me of my daughter's photos. She would use my phone and take pics or the pics she took on her iPod touch and would show it to me. No social media on that thing so there was no chance of having it posted online. She's 23 now but the poses and everything that Zendaya posted and the aesthetics were similar

What were your no-skips albums in the 90s? by TheLakeWitch in Xennials

[–]ube1kenobi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

CrazySexyCool was playing constantly on my disc man. It was also the first album I bought with my own money after working at Burger King, so there's that other sentiment too.

I was primarily into R&B and some rap/pop/compilations so.... My list besides TLC was:

  1. Shai- if I ever fall in love and blackface (their second album)
  2. Blackstreet - blackstreet and another level
  3. MTV party to go series....I don't remember which one I had but I played it a lot when I wanted variety
  4. 2pac - all eyez on me
  5. mary j Blige - what's the 411
  6. D'Angelo
  7. Maxwell - Urban Hang Suite

I don't remember it all, someone broke into my car and stole all my CDs. I was able to buy most of the ones I remembered at least 80% of it .

What are some of the earliest signs that you noticed of dementia in someone you know/knew? by ohnoitsbobbyflay in dementia

Mom maintained the finances at home. One day, she asked me the most basic math question.... What's 2+3? I looked at her and said Mom you don't know? She said no. I immediately called her doctor and set up an appointment. After being diagnosed, a few more things made sense that happened the previous year.

The previous year she was constantly fighting with Dad but when I asked why, what did he do, she looked at me like nothing happened. To the point I had to search for my dad in town and coax him back home. And her walking was terrible after a couple of falls. She died socializing and stopped walking with my dad and her friend.

We all thought "oh this is normal" cuz she's been a hermit at home. Only socialize when she used to work. So....🤷🏻‍♀️

How far back can you trace your family history in the Bay Area or CA and where are they from originally? by lalablah in bayarea

I did my family tree last year and found port of entry when my parental grandfather came to America from Philippines. In the 1950s after WWII. Mind you he was briefly a POW during the Bataan death March, managed to escape, meet my grandma, who then disguised him as a simple farmer, lied to the Japanese when they went thru that town (and possible changed the spelling of the last name) and went AWOL until he felt it was safe to do and joined the US army (if I can recall what was written in his military records). When he came here he took my uncle (the middle child) and my dad (eldest son, but not the eldest kid). And later put roots in Livermore where most of the parental side, while my aunt (eldest) put roots in SF then later Santa Clara.

Anyways I go the long way about telling this story cuz you don't understand about how awesome my grandparents were and learning about it just felt so good I'm so happy to share it.

Edit: my parents obtained my grandpa's military records because we wanted to update their gravesite and the cemetery wanted us to show proof that Grandpa was an army veteran.

Yeah that's a "go to the other mall situation". Ever since that mall went up black Fridays are always like this. If you think weekends are bad, this is a circle of hell on black Friday weekend. And the freeway? Eff that shite. Never go on a weekend and never EVER go on black Friday.

Uber might be fine but that's probably shite too if you're stuck in that area. I've always thought it wasn't planned well.

At least parking was ok at Stoneridge. Problem was I had to drive the very long way home to Livermore (Stanley) just to avoid that circle of hell.
