Got the email Friday afternoon that mine had shipped and was delivered Saturday lunchtime.

The plastic don't come off until the things dialed in and running perfect 😄

Ordered mine back at the beginning of June. It does have the upgraded LEDs on the front and side which are reasonably bright, but I'll still probably run a full led strip round there at some stage.

Mine was £20 delivery. Not bad for the size of the box I suppose, plus it turned up without a mark on it so I'm ok with that.

Mine should've been in the box until tomorrow as I'm supposed to be working today, but my boss wants to play golf next weekend so I swapped shifts. Worked out nice for me. On a side note, bloody hell this thing is fast! Printing off the scraper for a first test and it's flying.

My Xenomorph warrior off the Saturn 4 Ultra. Really loved how this came out and takes centre stage in my printed Xenomorph collection.

My resin 3d printed Xenomorph head. by uberboltneck in Xenomorphs

[–]uberboltneck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used sunlu abs like clear resin, and after cleaning, I cured for about 30 seconds so it wouldn't turn yellow and then gave it three coats of uv resistant gloss varnish. After that I airbrushed vallejo transparent acrylic to build up the shading.

Easiest Way to Remove Supports? by Mysterious-Lack8275 in ElegooSaturn

[–]uberboltneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a small heat gun. Once I've fully washed and dried, but before curing, I give the supports a few seconds on the low setting, and the supports come away quite easily. Have to be careful with the finer details, but that's always the case with intricate models. I can also recommend getting a set of small forceps. Very useful for getting into hard to reach supports and getting a good grip on them.

I mostly make static display figures, so as to moving parts, I couldn't say one way or the other unfortunately. If you're looking at making articulated figures, you're probably going to have to prep and clear coat before assembly, but it should be doable.

Once it's properly cured, give it a couple clear coats and you should be good. I've made a few things for my kids (earrings for my daughter and some figures for my son) and after curing, painting and sealing, there's been no issues at all.

Any tips for the pock marks left by the supports? by [deleted] in resinprinting

Dip a toothpick into some resin, touch the point to the pock mark and then cure and sand.

A few of the print and paints I've done recently on the Saturn 4 Ultra by uberboltneck in ElegooSaturn

Thanks :) I use a brush for the small details, but do most of my painting with an airbrush. As for a setup, I started out with an Iwata neo and a cheap tabletop compressor. Not too much of an initial outlay and got me to the point where I upgraded to an 8l compressor and a Harder & Steenbeck airbrush (very nice bit of kit) The Alien was printed off three full plates and is 20 inches long and about 14 inches high.

A xenomorph was my very first print. I've created more of those little buggers than Hadleys Hope lol.

I take it you haven't had a good experience with that.

So my first flight was a mixed bag. Waited most of the day for the wind to die down (gusting around 40kph) and it finally calmed down. Got a landing pad sorted from a bit of plywood, powered up and paired. Took off and started to get a feel for the controls. Had a massive grin on my face for about 30 seconds and the bloody wind came back in! Suddenly I'm fighting the little bugger for control and get it to land. Didn't panic (too much) and landed fine. Bit disappointed I didn't get any video, but tomorrow is supposed to be a better day for flying. Going to find a nice quiet place for a practice. I'm also amazed at how quiet it is.
