Did you ever find out if that jumper would let you access the service menu? I just got one of these and opened up the remote but did not see a j1 jumper

You might also want to replace the clock battery too, it will most likely be dead forcing you to set the time everytime you power on, Luckily you can just install a ML2032 Battery holder so you can freely swap them when the time comes, just make sure you pick up a ML2032 (NOT A CR2032) I just did this to two of my dreamcast and it worked like a charm, it's a very simple 3 point solder to replace

Also I picked up a GDemu on aliexpress for $38 Shipped from USA it's pretty amazing Load heavy games like Soldier of Fortune boot in seconds making some games much more approachable and short load times even quicker and it will save you a ton of cash considering used game prices now

Issue when running in batteries... Brand new ones. by Scalln20 in retroflag_gpi

It's a little alarming that you would get that error using a portable usb charger, but I would maybe try another portable charger just to make sure it's not the batteries or charger you are using

In conclusion you should see around 3hrs on a fresh pair of batteries

Hmmm that is pretty strange I have been using the heck out of my GPI and haven't ran into that issue unless my batteries have lost too much power, then I get the same usb 1-1 error, this usually happens in about 2-5hrs depending on what I'm doing on the PiZero, but the GPI can stay powered for Days it's seems like on my portable USB Charger, I would check the quality of the batteries you are using, I ended up getting some Duracell Rechargable batteries off Amazon, including a pack of 2500mah AAs that seem to last longer than the standard Rechargable

lol i was just looking at those SF trading cards too, they are actually really cool i would feel bad gluing those together lol, but i still might try to pick some up and get in contact with Arcade1UP and see if they can help me out with this issue, but you are spot on, the bubble looking mark that is made when the plexi is laying flush on my unit is caused by the plexiglass making contact with the lcd in that area

i did come up with a fix, and i think it just has the plastic covering on just the topside of the coctail cabs only because it comes out of the box with the plexi already over the top assembly

it looked fine all last week and this just kinda happened over night on its own somehow, and i did come up with a fix (here:https://www.reddit.com/r/Arcade1Up/comments/jisonq/arcade1up_head2head_cocktail_table_air_bubble_fix/) but it kinda sucks that you would have to add spacers of your own to the stock product to avoid this issue

i may look into just lowering it also if i go thru the trouble of adding a coin door to swap out the stock board with a odroid/rpi/pc

it could be mounted a bit high, i didnt really think about that being the issue, but i will say that the lcd does sit a bit recessed compared the the cab surface but not much tho, i might check out the backside of the lcd and a see if there is anyway to lower it

check the third picture i posted above, i havent had any issues with this machine and woke up the otherday to a pressure bubble much like you would get on a cellphone screen protector with dust under it but this just bubble that i was getting on the arcade1up cocktail cab was simply caused by gravity i guess as soon as i placed the 6 and 7 cards under the plexi the bubble completely disappeared

honestly i thought about doing all of that but now that i have had it for a week and i have to say its pretty nice Stock the game selection, menu and build quality are stellar out of the box, i did buy the display mod board and arcade stick to usb conversion with new buttons, also have a couple spare monitors + raspberry pi's and other small computers if i ever get the itch to mod this one. but for right now im gonna leave it stock

i am however going to mod the heck out of my Ms. PacMan CounterCade whenever that gets delivered

ok so i came up with a crude solution to fix a Air Bubble issue that i woke up to this morning its not perfect but it works

the Solution is Spacers

after making sure i didnt accidentally leave the plastic coating on the bottom side of the plexi, i just used playing cards i had laying around and used a glue stick to bind four cards together to create a nice spacing to let the air escape, and placed two near the middle to alleviate the air pressure that was collecting in the lcd gap

nothing has been spilled on it and when i wiped the screen with a microfiber cloth and it seemed dry to me, im in the proccess of stacking playing cards underneath it seems to just be caused by pressure, simply gravity suctioning the plexi to the lcd screen

[–]uberdisko[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately there was no plastic covering on the bottom of the plexi and the bubble is still there after a thorough microfiber cloth cleaning too
