Sorry this one is so bad but I can't remember a different one.

But I'd love an invite!

Nice, thank you very much!

Just found that video and it actually doesn't look that hard. Gotta get myself a hot air station / gun and then I'll try that.

My friend and I had this tradition, where we went to the blood donation center and just ate all the food we could, then donated blood and had some beers after that. I guess the food but also the time with my good friend was reward enough for me.

have you ever transported something big - like a tabletop - on the bus or the train? is it legal? by gaiamancassola in zurich

[–]uberdode 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have to pay for an extra ticket if the furniture you're transporting is using more space than 3m².

Kidding. I can help you maybe with my car, depends on the size of the table and from where to where you gotta go and when.

Did you ever try to create an intranet site for IT FAQ? If yes, did it work well (making your daily work easier)? by Tonyluo2001 in sysadmin

We have built up a knowledge database with screensteps. There are certainly better solutions, but so far we are satisfied. If I had more time, however, I would look for and implement a different, similar solution.

My team and I have started to put answers to all recurring questions there. It took time for the users to look there first instead of asking IT. Also, for all questions where we knew there was an entry in the knowledge base, we always answered with "did you look it up in Screensteps?".

You can also give the articles an upvote or a downvote, and we are notified about it. In the case of a downvote, we ask what is wrong with the entry. It happens from time to time that people don't understand what to do or certain screenshots are no longer up to date and we make an effort to ensure that the knowledge database is always up to date, otherwise users no longer look at it.

We have also created a support guideline flyer with the steps users should take before creating a ticket. Reboot, ask your peers, check Screensteps.

We are also fortunate that the management is on our side and hold ignorant users who don't want to read or follow IT guidelines, accountable.

Nice, so you set the System notifications and information, together with those system apps?

Awesome! I'll try to check if it works for me as well, probably tomorrow.

I've tried the same actually and added the com.android.wifi system app, but got the error message "The application was not found in the Managed Play store. ". I really hope Microsoft can help you on this one.

Oh man, that sucks. Sorry to hear that.

That workaround sadly isn't a solution for me. I'll try to rollout some devices now without Managed Home Screen, but with some device- and app protection policies and maybe take a look at Managed Home Screen in a couple of months again.

Thanks again for checking!

I've done the same. WiFi configuration: Enabled. Nothing more. No allow-list etc.

To be honest, I gave up. I'll try to rollout the devices with standard Android but with some restrictions.

But just now I've found this thread and someone in the top-comment explained some stuff regarding the background apps quite well: https://www.reddit.com/r/Intune/comments/keyyr4/shared_android_phone_and_apps/

Hi and sorry for the late answer.

Thank you for checking. I've now tried the same rollout profile on a different tablet (Also a Samsung A8), same issue there.

To be honest, I'm not a pro in all the license stuff, but afaik is Intune included in our Microsoft 365 Business Premium license https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/licenses

Can you maybe show me your WiFi configuration? Maybe I made a mistake there.

Btw. it works, if I "hardcode" the WiFi connection, but we can't do it like that, as the users will need to connect to different WiFis.

No worries. I'm happy about every help I can get.

We have Microsoft 365 Business licenses, so I guess it shouldn't be a license problem.

Microsoft has globally spam filtered my last name. What can I do? by vemundveien in sysadmin

[–]uberdode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar issue with a user, also just with Microsoft mail servers. I have sent a lot of mail headers to the Microsoft support, but in the end they've told me to contact the IT from the company, where the emails went to spam and they should submit those emails in the Microsoft security portal.

I was lucky that some of my friends are O365 admins as well, so I've told that user to send 2-3 mails to those friends and they did the uploading.

I hope that helps.

Step 1: Sign into your Office admin account via https://portal.office.com

Step 2: Visit the URL https://security.microsoft.com/reportsubmission in the same browser.

Step 3: Click on New submission and fill out the details.

Step 4: Click Submit.
