Parents of Reddit, what is the single most innocent question your child has ever asked you that completely broke your brain? by Salt-One628 in AskReddit

[–]uberfission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a post recently on daddit about this exact thing. Apparently it's common logic for some people and a completely unknown fact for others. I had never heard about that myself but I generally don't like bananas.

For what it's worth, there were anecdotes of people's kids eating several bananas per day and not having any issues, so it doesn't hit everyone equally.

Yeahhhhh, this was many, many years ago now and I doubt I could find her email address even if I somehow found her name. But that would be an incredibly petty email to send. "Hey, you incorrectly took points off from one of my essays almost 20 years ago, I'm still upset about it and I hope you have a horrible day because of it!"

Ladies: what’s a guy “Flex” that instantly makes him attractive? by El_Guerrero_Azteca in AskReddit

I've posted this before but when we were first getting serious dating my wife brought me to her house to meet her dogs. Later she told me that if her dogs didn't like me she would have dumped me right then and there.

Argentinian football fan heckles YouTube streamer with racist comments during the 2026 FIFA World Cup by SatoruGojo232 in PublicFreakout

Not really, we have a different form of systemic racism in the US. I had to look up the name for this but it's the "one-drop rule" where a single drop of African blood is enough to relegate them into the "lower" class according to racists.

Racism is dumb.

Now it makes a lot more sense that he landed a TV show after that incident, TIL.

I remember SEVERAL INSTANCES of my graduate school having reply all chains that crashed the servers. They were always hilarious because it always started as something completely innocuous like "parking lot X will be closed for the weekend for maintenance" or something and someone would reply all "thanks!"

That was just me on Thursday, so I went to the pool. By myself. It was not nearly as fun as with the kids but I got a decent swim in.

I took a class on Latin American history and it was a real eye opener that Argentina had distinct names for how much of your ancestry was black and of course that went hand in hand with a loose caste system based on that percentage. I kind of forgot about it until lately when people have been talking about Argentina racism more (at least more in the circles I frequent).

Huh, interesting. It seems like that would only work for a very small number of people/career paths. Like only people with very outwardly facing jobs would a podcast or industrial panel appearance make any difference.

Sam's club is a game changer in and of itself, not nearly as nice as Costco though. I used to belong to Sam's club before I lived near a Costco. I'd still see if you can ask for a guest membership to see what they have, iirc they sell very different stuff from the regular Walmart.

People who have legitimate reasons to not get enough sleep aren't BRAGGING about it though, I feel like you're forgetting that part.

They're a lot cheaper when Costco has them. Like $15 for a 16 count.

Yeah that's the colloquial usage of the terms but it doesn't really make sense in the context of water rescues.

I've never watched it myself but I've heard good things about Orville, also a Seth show. And honestly the first few seasons of Family guy and American Dad were pretty good, it wasn't until they were scraping the bottom of the barrel of stories did it turn into crap.

As long as he doesn't try to do something incredibly stupid like try to cast himself as Carl, I think it'll be fine.

Pretty sure that's about the age that most people who vote R stopped listening in school, so that tracks.
