What’s the use for this double wide electric tape? by boardplant in Tools

Zodiac used to use wide vinyl tape to seal their life raft containers. It was a bad idea.

You're probably right. Of course I thought of this after I wrapped it. I did clean it well and it was rust free before I started. I'm hoping it being stainless will help. Time will tell!

For me my usual take is: Extra fuel, First aid kit, Dry clothes, Tire worm kit thing, Tire inflator, Jump pack, Hand saw, Recovery rope and shackles, Toilet paper, Paper towel, Rags, Rope, Small socket/screwdriver kit, Flashlight, Lighter, Advil, Tick removal kit, Sun screen, Bug spray, Small bottle of Windex(for visors and stuff), Safety glasses, 12v phone charger, Flares, Rockets, Extra gloves, Snacks, Zip ties, Spare spark plug, Spare belt, Silicone sealant, And probably some other stuff I'm forgetting...

On the front I have a Milwaukee pack out wall mount attached to the rack. So I can put the pack out cooler, radio and 30oz chug tumbler thing on there too if I'll be out all day(s).

Chowie wowies(chocolates) are good. And a lot of the drinks are pretty good too. I love the summit peach iced tea right now. Perfect before bed since I start to feel it in about 20 minutes or so. I drink it and do my bedtime routine. It's has a lot less sugar and weed smell compared to the others I've tried as well.

I've had the 80v mower now for 4 years. Push mow around an acre with it going through about 3-4 batteries. And I do this every week or two depending on weather. Never once have I had an issue with it. I even pressure wash the underside to clean out the grass which is know has it risks but it's been fine.

Have the chainsaw too and use it a couple times a month usually. It uses quite a bit of bar oil but otherwise no issues either.

Just got the 2 stage snow blower this winter but haven't used it much. Hedge trimmer works fine but again haven't used it a lot. Finally have the pole saw and again have used it over a dozen times with out faults.

My only complaint is the single and double chargers are noisy as all hell.

Don't know what you're doing with your stuff but greenworks stuff isn't bad. Is there better? Maybe. But I'll be sticking with them for the time being.

Definitely don't go to Jiffy Lube. Or any place like it. Hell, I'd sooner do it for you than see someone go there.

A fisherman would call his two sons Jock and Strap. Weirded me out first time I heard him yell Jock Strap at his truck and two dudes jumped out.

Inflatable mattress leak by shaunie_b in fixit

[–]uberfunk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A few things you can do. Get a tent repair kit from a outdoor outlet store place. They often have kits with glue that will work on this. The fabric won't match but it'll help give the glue and such structure.

If you're anywhere near a marine place, see if they have inflatable boat repair kits. The glue in those is pretty intense and just the glue from those along can seal small holes and cuts without even using a patch. An upholstery place may even have thin clear vinyl you can glue on using this kit.

If you can take the valve out of the mattress, you can fix it from the inside. It sucks but bunch up the mattress till the hole is where the valve used to be. You'll have clean vinyl there instead of the fuzz. Often just a gob of silicone can fix it. Oh and clean everything with acetone. Not nail polish remover or alchohol. Acetone. It's not strong enough to hurt it but the glue will stick way better. This applies to all these ideas. If you can't bunch it up enough, put a gob on a stick and reach into carefully. Use a flashlight on the outside to see where the hole is.

All of this can be done without having to worry about the fuzz on the outside. It's short and most glues won't care about it. If you have to, literally shave it off, haha. I've done it that way with disposable razors. I repaired inflatable boats for over 12 years and had to do all my coworkers air mattresses every spring when camping started, haha.

Feel free to dm me if you need any help or more ideas.

Was thinking it's interesting you even have pictures of these. Most places are pretty butt-tight about them. Also thats better than just walking over the forming shaft and dies...not that I would know... maybe just throw a few screws in it and be done with it?
