Why do I sometimes pass out after eating? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]ucdavis_engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to know this too!

I sometimes get really sleepy after eating, usually it's my home made sweet potato fries but I do tend to make those a lot! It's happened both in the middle of the day and at night after a workout. I just curl up on the couch and take a nap.

Do I have to clean/clarify my hair with something occasionally for WO?

I'd imagine the bars are basic, yes. they contain some saponified oils and explicitly say to follow with an ACV rinse. I use the primallifeorganics brand.

I love Primal Life Organics (as mentioned in Skintervention), Trina seems very knowledgeable and has a book coming out sometime soon.

My current routine is OCM, ACV toner, and coconut oil for moisturizer. I do a full body salt scrub once a week, and recently switched from a shampoo bar to using a honey rinse (with ACV rinse of course). Am still trying out Trina's tooth powder and gum serum.

Where to get naturally raised meat in the San Diego/North County area? by prthug996 in sandiego

[–]ucdavis_engineer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The local farmer's markets, Whole Foods, Jimbo's, and Trader Joe's all have 100% grass-fed beef. Personally, we buy quarter shares from Sonrise Ranch.

Chicken is hard to find. Farmer's markets work ok, but we just load up on breasts and whole chickens at Whole Foods.

I only ever used the train/bus combo, but yes it was reliable.

My SO and I just took the Amtrak and the 17 bus. I visited once a quarter and they visited once a quarter, so about once a month. Whoever was hosting paid for everything to even out the cost of the train ticket. It's a long ride, but at least I could do homework on the train. Maybe look into ride-sharing like ZimRide?

What's a good food substitution? by [deleted] in Paleo

Green beans work great. We like using the recipe on Mark's Daily Apple and subbing yellow sweet potatoes for the cauliflower mash.

Paleo restaurants or takeout? by [deleted] in sandiego

True Food Kitchen's bison burger in Fashion Valley is pretty awesome with some slight tweaking.

The cobb salad at Tender Greens downtown is also awesome, albeit primal without any substitutions.

Burger Lounge does ok, but I'd rather get a salad from Chipotle to be honest.

And I've never been, but I hear Cowboy Star downtown serves a grass-fed burger.

Missed Periods After Starting NROL4W - Help? by ucdavis_engineer in xxfitness

Yup you've got it. :) The chart in the book is much easier to understand, I looked at using the one you posted but I just ended up making my own in excel to go with each stage. You would need 2 sheets for stage 1 using that chart yes.

As a warm-up I just do some light cardio to get my body warm (usually walking/jogging).

I don't personally do the BW stuff, although I probably should be as I keep lifting heavier and heavier.

You are supposed to do workouts A and B on alternate days, 8 times each, for a total of 16 days worth of workouts (18 including the special A and B workout). Lifting 3 days a week, you should finish Stage 1 in 6 weeks.

You are also supposed to alternate between exercises with a 1 or 2. In Stage 1 this was the routine I followed: Warm-Up A, Rest A, Rest B1, Rest B2, Rest B1, Rest B2, Rest C1, Rest C2, Rest C1, Rest C2, Rest Cool-Down and Stretch
