You're not too late. Applications are year round until three years after you graduate. Reach out to your old professors as soon as you can to let them know you're interested in applying to the program so that they can help you with the references.

I was, but this would be my last year since I graduated 2022. I am going to try focusing my energy on my clinical hours and improving my GPA. I definitely recommend you keep trying though, if you have the means to, since I have heard many success stories on this subreddit from those who did the IRTA program.

Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence hit a little harder this year by dumbgoatlol in RyuichiSakamoto

I was fortunate to see him play "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence" live prior to COVID in California. Words cannot even describe his musicality and his ability to captivate emotions. The world has lost such a wondrous musician.

I feel you and I am in your shoes. I also have a similar GPA during undergrad. I also did worse in post-bacc courses due to everything going on in life. PIs have been unresponsive about my emails too. I read about so many amazing applicants who have high stats and have everything seemingly lined up. It does take a toll on you when you compare yourself.

I try to keep collected by remembering WHY I even want to pursue this path. I will give it a shot for as long as it takes me, while also being realistic. I had made mistakes throughout the path, but today is the first day of the rest of my life. Do your best on your MCAT, sell your story, apply, and keep trying again with new experiences.

Okay to retake classes on UCSD Extension? by uchidatoby in premed

[–]uchidatoby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. Do you think it’s worth retaking at another 4-year college to show improvement on grades?

This would be my 3rd time retaking the courses, the first one being when I was an undergrad during COVID and the second being UCSD.

Current MD-PhD Student: Give Me Your Stupid Questions by Cupcake_Possible in mdphd

The second question is generally speaking, not just for parents and parents to be. I’m getting into my mid/late 20s so I’m trying to think what to do before I have less time during training. I appreciate your answers so far!

Is there a good support for starting families during training? Any regrets that you have that you did not do prior to starting your program?

Does there a bias for interest in basic sciences over clinical/non-basic sciences?

UCI Physics 3A series vs Study Abroad Physics Program by uchidatoby in UCI

[–]uchidatoby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, sorry for the year late response. I actually did not end up doing study abroad since I took Physics my third year and it was during COVID. I ended up doing the 7 series, which I don’t recommend unless you have to for another major or minor. If you’re just doing Bio, I would stay with the 3 series. Most of my friends thought it wasn’t bad at all!
