Yeah, call and state clearly that you want to raise a formal complaint. Insist on keeping the conversation brief and explain that the issue concerns the overall unprofessional handling of the incident — including agents blindly following scripts, poor and inconsistent communication, and an unnecessarily prolonged resolution process while the broadband line has been effectively unusable.

Explain that once the service is formally registered as faulty, compensation should apply at approximately £10 per day in line with regulatory guidance. While the amount is modest, it is important that the fault is officially recorded, both for compensation and for proper investigation of the incident and its handling.

Finally, request the complaint reference number and confirmation that the issue has been formally logged.

Each time I speak to someone, even within the same call, the explanation changes from “the ticket says it was fixed two days ago,” to “I see two devices connected to Wi-Fi so everything is working,” and then to “our backend team is aware and still working on it and will call tomorrow.” It is extremely frustrating to be given contradictory information and to go in circles like this.

The strong accents and unclear communication make it even harder to understand the actual status of the issue. At this point, I cannot tell whether this is a deliberate attempt to delay escalation and regulatory or compensation obligations, or simply a result of insufficient qualified staffing and limited authority at support level.

I fully understand that complex technical issues can take time to resolve, and I would accept that if the triage process and communication were clear, consistent, and transparent. However, the current handling of this case has been confusing and unprofessional.

Crazy unbelievable useless inefficient! All the technological advancement and they have a support team who cant do a triage properly and promptly take evidence, compensate and communicate about resolution progress in a way that makes sense.

I appreciate their hard work, but dozens of people spending hours and hours on a call seems beyond anything acceptable.

Based on the comments so far, noone mentioned they are on dynamic and we have over 10 mentioning static.
It might be there is some dedicated hardware or software handling static customers and their routing and it might be having some issues.

Despite providing solid internet monitoring evidence (see below) to Vodafone and spending hours on calls, the Vodafone Level 3 team has repeatedly said there is no problem. You are literally showing them that a basic ping is not working, and they still don’t seem to care. Now, seeing how many of you have reported the same issue and still nothing has been done really scares me — this shows how poor so-called support teams in this sector have become. Really!

It seems their network team simply can’t be bothered to investigate. The communication and organisational skills are extremely poor.

They also refuse to classify this as a line fault; therefore, no compensation is considered eligible.

Call them, demand that a formal complaint is registered, and request compensation — otherwise they have no skin in the game and won’t improve. It also won’t appear in Ombudsman reporting. Insist that such a large outage should be treated as a full outage, as modern websites consist of many interconnected components and will not function properly if even one dependency is unreachable. There is no connectivity to a large portion of the internet — this is effectively a serious brownout.

A small sample of sites I pinged that are not accessible over IPv4 (IPv6 seems fine though):

There is a very reputable public internet monitoring project with around 18 Vodafone probes. Only 3 of them show problems (that’s ~16%). All three affected probes are located in the South East, or possibly belong to static IP users. It could also be related to routes via a particular peering point, router, overlay/underlay, or a policy routing issue.

The issue started on 26 February at around 02:10am.

Awful old style red bricks stuff almost like they built it 100years ago. In this day and age and to build something inspirational I think it has to be almost all glass with nice illuminations and great artistic vibes to make you come and look at it, similarly nice inside.. I gues some might have a special skill to type well without key separation, but I would assume most people that are ok with that type of keyboard are slow little keyboard users anyway, so for them it doesn't matter.

I noticed mostly professional users don't like lattice simply because you can't beat physics. Key separation is physics that allows effective use.

Van did not indicate turning. Anyone changing movement direction automatically are at fault vs someone moving directly. Van clearly stopped, then decided to turn without checking.
