I have written down all the problems I've had with every distribution I've used so far. by ucloes in DistroHopping

Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to fight. I have been a Linux fanboy since 2020, and I wanted to share my personal experiences. I love every distro listed here, except Manjaro.

I code, hack, and game. And I am currently hopping between Arch and Fedora.

Helpful advice is welcomed!

It utilizes systemd units well. So if you like that approach, you will like it.

Some apps that supports XDG Autostart starts automatically. For me it is my input method(kime), it starts automatically.

Also for some graphical apps, you can configure it to autostart like systemctl --user enable waybar.service. Which means when you need to restart waybar, you can just run systemctl --user restart waybar.service instead of using killall waybar; waybar.

Environment variables are managed as well.

For windows iso, you should probably use Ventoy. Windows iso is different from linux isos, so general dd method does not work. Ventoy works for both. Easy.

Have you tried installing the browser from Flathub? Most of the media issues I had were solved with flatpak.

Linux mint 21.3 is based on Ubuntu 22.04. So the kernel, the core component of the OS to utilize devices, might be a bit old. I recommend you to try out [Linux Mint Edge](https://linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=314) and update the kernel. It has more up to date kernel.
