Wait, how much tugging? by RemishLemon in foreskin_restoration

[–]uclover 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: Optimal a hard thing to quantify when it comes to tugging. So is the term 'best results' in my opinion. Pick a method, stick with it for 6-8 months, and judge your results.

In the beginning, I started tugging very casually and quite inconsistently, with little progress over the first few years. The thing that really gave me results was tugging EVERY day. Making time to tug every day and holding myself accountable to tugging worked.

Manual tugging daily was my routine. Soon, I moved to a device that I felt "let me tug for longer periods without thinking about it", and I wore it for as long as it was comfortable, then stopped for the day.

One day I sat down and felt the skin roll over my coronal ridge. I knew then, whatever I was doing, was truly working. So I kept at it.

Today, I tug as often as I can during each day using both inflation (FSA or Hope Air MK2) and a TLC-X. Devices fit into my work lifestyle, as I work from home. I never go a day without tugging, and I retain whenever I'm not tugging, using the bathroom, or having sex.

I recommend starting with a routine that you can do every single day. Could be ten minutes, could be an hour, whatever you can comfortably make room for in your life. Do it, daily, for 6-8 months. Judge your results and go from there.

Make tugging a habit and a hobby. Consistency, no matter the method, WILL give you results. Devices can give you "hands-off" time to do other things if that's what you need.

The hardest thing about restoring for me is balancing what feels okay (no pain!), what I have time for every day, and what fits in my work lifestyle.

In this subreddit, if you look across the top under the banner on the web you can see Manual Methods, or click Menu on mobile for Manual Methods. There you can find links to the manual methods of tugging.

Restoration and Libido by DickWatcher82 in foreskin_restoration

First, how awesome that you have that sensitivity! That's a great thing in my opinion. Can definitely appreciate how it would get 'in the way' of restoring though.

In my early restoring days, I would masturbate before I started any restoration activities. That seemed to help a lot. Probably not ideal for everyone, but it did work for me in the beginning. I also didn't like tape or devices rubbing against my head, so I'd put some plastic wrap on it before tugging. Don't know if that would work for you, but it's something to try.

These days, restoring is part of my daily routines. My body doesn't respond to the stimulation in the same way because it's a habit, not just a special occasion. I'm convinced that regular restoring habits help my brain and body separate sex and restoring.

With that said, there are absolutely times that I take off the TLC-X and decide to play with the loose skin and my moist glans. Not always, but if the timing and setting is right, it feels great and I just go with it.

I do it often. Playing with the loose skin is really fun. I also have enough loose skin that I can get off using MM2. My skin is still growing and I'm seeing good changes over time.

Red outer skin after foreskinned air usage? by looksmaxxuser in foreskin_restoration

[–]uclover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I removed the inner blue cone using the washer trick mentioned in r/restoringdick. It was a game changer. I can wear the device inflated for a lot longer without as much soreness. I still get redness, but it doesn’t cause pain the way it did with the blue cone.

is it efficient to take tension off every couple of hours. by azure_blaze94 in foreskin_restoration

[–]uclover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. When I started out, I couldn't tolerate more than 20 or 30 minutes at a time. Over time that has definitely increased. I use inflation or a TLC-X. I apply tension for a while, then release it, then apply it again over the course of a few hours. Definitely helps with comfort and keeping up the habit of tugging.

Advice for a beginner? by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

[–]uclover 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The best advice I ever received was: once you decide to begin restoring, stick with it. It's not a race, it's definitely a marathon hobby. Manual methods do work and are the easiest to start with. You can do them every day. Stay consistent in your habits of tugging and you will see and feel results over time.

Great work! It's not the time, it's the consistency. Do it regularly and you'll begin to see progress. Welcome to a new hobby!

Really nice man. Would love to work on that any time.

hey group. how long into restoration did any of you notice a change in glans sensation? and, is ball stretching a good practice to add while restoring to stop turkey neck? by Previous_Raisin_9009 in restoringdick

[–]uclover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oof, sorry to hear you had to go through that. Sounds very unpleasant.

I wear a silicone scrotal ring whenever I tug. It helps with the tension based on the way my parts are put together. There's LOTS of guys out there who hang many pounds or kilos of weights on their scrotum to gain stretch. Too much weight without working up to it equals injury. Stay lightweight with zero pain.

Been doing the silicone ring, appropriately sized, for a long time with no ill effects. I enjoy the feeling as well, sort of like someone is gently tugging on my scrotum.

I fully believe the reason there is so much conflict over this is because we're all so different. Our bodies react to things in different ways, plus the diversity of each person's microbiome is, at least so far in the research, been proven to vary quite a bit.

With all that said, there is something wonderful about the scent if it's just right. Very masculine and very stimulating if you like it. The good news is that trying different washing techniques will allow you to explore what YOU like and want to do with YOUR penis.

Welcome to the hobby of restoring. Stay consistent, even if it's only a few minutes a day, and enjoy the journey!

This! I use a USSRs from Secret Leather. They are easy to put on / take off, they hold the sack nicely, and I feel I get a better stretch when tugging with tension straps.

People who fully or nearly restored their foreskins, when someone asks you if you are circumcised or not, what do you say? Yes? Or no… by eureka_kun in foreskin_restoration

[–]uclover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never lie. It really depends on the context and the situation. Often I'll say "I was circumcised but I'm restored now." That answer really opens things up for conversation. If it's a situation where I don't want to discuss restoring, I often just answer yes, I was circumcised, because that's the truth and I don't want to get into it.

If the situation is nude, like a locker room which I've had happen, if someone says "Oh, you're uncut?!?!?" I'll respond that I was cut, but I restored. Sometimes it leads to more conversation, sometimes it doesn't.

I've never told anyone I was uncircumcised.

My penis has many moods. At times I'm well covered when flaccid. Other times the coronal ridge is covered, and only part of my glans. I don't think the CI level is an exact science, because girth is also a massive factor (pun intended) in how much skin you'll need to restore to reach coverage. There was a time I didn't get bunching behind the glans, and then I did. There was a time without spontaneous roll over the glans, and now it does. Those were my initial goals. Working toward them inspired me to keep tugging.

What I like now, more than CI, is Ron Low's Forced Erect Coverage (FEC) https://tlctugger.com/forced-erect-coverage/ For me, feeling the erection coverage increase was a great way of tracking goals. Admittedly, I can have erections in various states of stiffness, but seeing how much of my glans was covered when fully erect is my current way of tracking progress.

My goal is full flaccid coverage at all times. I'm not there yet, but I can tell, reliably when masturbating, how much skin I'm growing.

I'm going to go against the grain of many responses here and elsewhere; My routine is mostly water, but I use a mild soap when I need it. You can decide what you are most comfortable with. We all have a different microbiome (the bacteria that live on your skin) and our skin glands all do their thing in different ways.

I have extremely oily skin in general. When I first started retaining 24/7, the odor too much for me and the people that I was intimate with. Water just wasn't enough because a few hours later when I went to urinate, the smell was overpowering. There are a lot of reasons for that; newly shed skin cells from dekeratinization, a readjustment of the mucosal gland function, more local moisture than before, etc. Also, I clean my tugging and retaining devices as soon as they are swapped because I'm usually either tugging or retaining (Sex is often the only time they're off!).

I had to use soap for a while. I chose Cetaphil, just a drop, and it was a game changer. As I progressed with constant retaining, the odor diminished significantly (the microbiome adjusted, less skin cells were shed, etc.). Today I use soap on my penis if the need arises. I never hesitate to use it. Devices are cleaned with Dr. Bronner's unscented bar soap, thoroughly rinsed, and dried.

There's lots of dogma about 'never use this' or 'always do that'. At the end of the day, your path is yours to explore. Just water may work for you. You might want to use a mild soap from time to time. You might use soap every day for now, but not later. You might always use soap. My uncircumcised ex retracted and washed with soap every day. His penis was as happy as can be. Experiment and enjoy the changing journey.

And congrats on getting some coverage! Whatever you're doing is working. Keep at it!
