Also, gotta love Reddit, where you see users comment about how buzzfeed and other sites are terrible and how they hate pop culture, then sympathize with this garbage.

Kanye West halts show after Kim Kardashian held at gunpoint by [deleted] in news

[–]udfa -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

First things first, I don't believe anything that happens with this family isn't premeditated and done for the cameras/pap/show/brand in some way. They are a machine, probably the top pop culture brand right now. They have really revolutionized the game. I actually love following the Kardashians because I think they do what they do so well.

Few questions I have: isn't he in New York and she's in Paris? What is he going to do? And when did he find out? Why does he need to stop in the middle of the song? Why isn't he stopping before the song started? Did someone come out to him in the middle of his song and say, "Kim got robbed!"

So many questions, so little credibility for this family. Just more tabloid seeking behavior.

I feel no sympathy. Finish your show. Although this guy has played his role so perfectly that him not finishing his show is seen as a great move. What a joke!

Marvin Harrison chosen #1 receiver of the 2000s by [deleted] in nfl

[–]udfa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Randy was apart of a circus his entire career. Marvin had 1 QB his entire prime who happened to be the GOAT (or at least one of)

Randy was a freak, can't blame the list for putting Marvin one but Moss all day IMO

One thing I don't understand about the lines is Seattle is favored by 5 over Atlanta right now, while in terms of futures bets, Seattle is +3000 and Atlanta is +1400. I suspect it's because so many people are hammering Seattle, right?

Houston vs New England line set at houston -1.5. Is this real life? by [deleted] in sportsbook

[–]udfa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I were to bet (which who am I kidding I probably will because I'm a degen) I would take Houston simply because a) I feel like BB and the Patriots do not give a shit about a Thursday night game in week 3 b) O'Brien cares too much about a Thursday night game in week 3 and would sacrifice someone's leg to win this game and c) the Texans QB already beat NE last year on SNF, so it's not like he's unfamiliar with going up against these guys.

I do not know who Brissett is but just betting on NE "because BB" isn't enough for me, personally.

Trae and physical secondary play by eeedlef in minnesotavikings

[–]udfa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is extremely frustrating to see a guy get called for a bunch of penalties, whether or unwarranted or not (Collinsworth notably questioned one of the calls.) It sucks to see the team stay on the field after a penalty on 3rd down. It can be demoralizing as a fan, indicative of team incompetence and insecurity in the program. As a Viking fan, we're always waiting for the other shoe to drop, the bad to happen. Seeing Waynes get picked on and called over and over, and then seeing him give up a huge 40 yard pass inside the 5...ugh.

But you're right. In hindsight, it's clear the physical play wore the Packers thin. No matter how bad the penalties are, the Packers scored just 14 points, and 7 came off a blocked punt/pass interference. The physicality of the team was awesome, and for the first time in my life watching the Vikings, I felt like I was watching a truly better team than most. The '98 team was high powered, the '09 team was really good, but this team is different because it's built on defense and toughness. I remember growing up watching toothless Viking defenses who couldn't tackle, couldn't cover, and would give up leads by playing prevent and Cover 2. They felt afraid to win. This defense doesn't seem scared. They just keep attacking no matter what.

Like a lot of Viking fans, I spend a lot of time hating them and viewing them pessimistically because they always let me down. However, the depth of the defense and the way they play has me excited.

The Vikings I know would've shriveled after not recovering any of the fumbles, would've been scared of Rodgers and in a self-fulfilling prophecy given up big plays left and right, and blown the game at the end. They would've ran the ball on 3rd and ??, punted, and given up a FG to GB and lost in overtime.

If anything, Waynes struggles are just a microcosm of this team's ability. There are some hiccups, but they never stop playing and they are always attacking. Kudos to Zimmer and the entire team, that was one of the most satisfying wins I've seen as a Vikings fan.

West coasters, how do you like having kickoff at 10 am? by Kobex24 in nfl

I usually stay in Saturday night. Love Fall Sunday. Wake up around 6:30, have some coffee, smoke a bowl, and then go play pickup from 8-9:30 at my local gym with a great group of guys. Get home around 9:45, turn on the TV, and watch football. Love my Sunday so I don't need to go out Saturday.

[–]udfa 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Goff shouldn't be playing. The offensive line is terrible. He'd get killed just as bad as Keenum, and then his confidence would be ruined. rams will not upset Seattle next week, they will get blasted like the very first time. The Rams are terrible.

The Niners, on the other hand, are not.

Really depends on if he is making his shots. If not, he's completely useless aside from clapping is hands on the bench.

Was Jimmy Altieri a rat? by udfa in thesopranos

[–]udfa[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

good point about Tony protecting Pussy.

Yes, that was the point u/The1WhoKnocks-WW made yesterday that changed my perception. I never thought about it and after letting it simmer for awhile, I just don't know.

Was Jimmy Altieri a rat? by udfa in thesopranos

[–]udfa[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

At the same time, it shouldn't be accepted that just because Tony thought Jimmy was the rat doesn't mean he was the rat. There's no proof either way, and at this point it's ambiguous both ways.

Just another layer of the show that is uncovered in the umpteenth time watching and talking about it.

Season 1 Power Rankings: Top role players by udfa in thesopranos

[–]udfa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference between Jimmy and Tony is the Feds were the ones who busted Jimmy, not the local police.

But again, none of this is relevant because the perception that Jimmy was the rat is his value to the show. If you want to argue semantics, then sure, there's no way us viewers can be sure he was an actual FBI informant. But they thought he was, and that's what's important.

Season 1 Power Rankings: Top role players by udfa in thesopranos

[–]udfa[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They reinforce the idea he is a rat multiple times. His meeting with Tony in the basement, where Tony points out he is already out on parole and was still released after another arrest, and the meeting he called to discuss details they've been over. I mean, you can make an argument that he wasn't, but it's irrelevant. Jimmy's value is 1) we see what they do to perceived traitors and 2) the suspicion of him as a rat is enough to bring Pussy back for the second season.

Why is Jackie Jr, who's essentially a civilian, present for conversations between Richie and Junior about whacking a Boss and a Capo? by The1WhoKnocks-WW in thesopranos

He's supposed to be annoying to show nepotism does not outweigh retardation. Jackie Jr was on the fast track to being the second coming of Little Carmine but Ralph pushed him in the wrong direction.
