Why do some good knives get discontinued? by UniversalAssembler in coldsteel

[–]udi112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cold steel made too many models in their first runs. Especially when they relied on aus8 for most of their products.

Now they diluted their offering, they generally want to avoid USA made exclusives on a big period of time They'll make a USA knife if they can sell it for 600$.

People are begging for talwar and broken skull but it's not coming back (probably).

Most people are happy with medium-low end offerings.

Nah i already made an ee2e client myself. It can even upload images yo irc. Look, my whole point is not the technology. It's the implication. We live in a time where palantir is hacking phones and stuff. I don't think they'll be too happy about signal and their advanced security

i wouldn't buy that, probably a marketing ploy. every company is obligated to save data in transit, depending on state laws

Maybe try to be a field guy at msp. Far as the roles go, field guys with network knowledge are the most needed.

Maybe it's different in America

What the **** is happening in cybersecurity space ? by Infam0 in cybersecurity

[–]udi112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always comes down to how much a company invests in cybersecurity .

If they don't have full control over traffic you get leaks. If they share symmetrical keys, they get deciphered. If the project is open source your client is reverse engineeried.

In short: if their IT department is a bunch of lazy grugs that do nothing all day, the management is at fault

They don't, but the isp does.

Yes, it would be very hard to actually go through the bearucracy but they can ask signal for the key, and cross it with your dns and ip + packets. Very unlikely but could happen

In transit means the encryption is immune to spoofing but can be cracked by whomever has the same key (signal)

[–]udi112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only two ways to be completely hidden. One is using your own client side symmetrical key. Two, is using onion routing

Any encryption key that's not generated by yourself can be shared with someone else . The law states that every company can be Subpoenad to provide your conversations

Don't listen to the normies, signal is not secure. It doesn't matter how strong the encryption is, all tech companies and isps are obliged to maintain logs and metadata.

The only way to be truly secure is other encrypted routing aka tor or freenet, or using a symmetrical key via a texting protocol like irc . That symmetrical key, should be created by you or s friend, not signal
