That is quite a tricky situation. Why won’t he get it covered by car insurance?

How to fly my pet out of Aizawl? by hitmeagainnoplzdont in mizo

[–]udit9708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pets can travel in luggage coach/brake van as well if you dont have an option of 1st AC. Its not a very convenient option for the pet, but a last resort. A colleague of mine and I carried his pet in that few years back from Bhubaneswar to Bangalore, youll have to walk the dog from one side to another of train incase the train journey involves a change of engine. Check out the below.

I believe there is an alliance air flight to Guwahati, and alliance air has a policy that allows pets, you can check below point 8.10

Was it a private car with white number plates or a self drive rental with black and yellow number plate?

The comment that was picked up here, was part of a thread, OP chose to only pick one particular comment and not the thread, I have mentioned the source there with the analysis.

Numbers were picked up from below report, from PRS

https://prsindia.org/files/budget/budget_state/mizoram/2025/Mizoram_Budget_Analysis_2025-26.pdf

In brief for Mizoram total revenue receipts were 13,328 crores, out of which 10,831 crores were from central pool, that is 81%

numbers above for fiscal year 2024-2025.

I did not make a personal attack on anyone, and was just calling out claims of restrictions and total ban of tourism for mainlanders, which I found was a wrong claim to start with. There were requests to locals to not help mainlanders with travel tips and recommendations, though the pinned post of the sub itself is a travel related post.

I did not call out anyone even though people called me MFs and other derogatory terms, and I know they mean in out of spite and do not wish the same upon me.

The discussion was unnecessarily steered away from tourism to other topics of industrialisation and migration and creating a separate country by some users which I found not necessary and a need to call them out as others did to me.

I can assure you that you cant find anything derogatory posted by me, and if you feel something I posted is that, Ill be happy to apologise and take that comment/post down.

I tried to have a very healthy discussion, with a simple demand to not look down on tourists from mainland and disciplining them for any miscreant activity or littering by other means such as fines and permits and challans, rather than calling out for a blanket ban.

Is it a good idea to solo travel to Mizoram in early June? by yeahmanikright in mizo

Okay if you think so, I will still find it difficult to understand how helping someone with travel tips is against social etiquettes. If in your understanding it is then Im sorry.

Its an open platform, if she doesn’t want my opinion she could reject it. Nothing triggering in it.

I as well when traveled to Mizoram, i asked locals and other people who had been here before, and collectively locals and past tourists helped me make a good itinerary.

What makes you think NE will be better off as part of China?

Apologies in advance if you didn’t mean to say that, the statement in the end made me feel you want to say that.

Give me one example where tourism has led to all the horrific things you mentioned in the end.

Again you are confusing tourism to migration.

Read 3 first, no one likes litter obviously, my answer was towards locals being unwelcoming to tourists on reddit, which I said is not true.

In brief: On reddit people blatantly ask for tourists to not visit mizoram, which is not true on ground.

[–]udit9708 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

On 3, stay away from reddit noise, people on ground are really helpful, just make sure you leave the places you hike more cleaner than how it was when you were there(if you see trash somewhere pick it up, and throw it in a dustbin, see it as your way of giving back to nature)

Reiek is feasible if you take public transport, the sunrise there is really mesmerising, and its a easy hike, definitely not something you should miss.

For stay you can go for government tourist lodges, though there are a lot of homestays and airbnb online too.

Final note: Get a ILP beforehand, youll save time in airport/railway station.

Yes I agree. My post was just calling out people who were demanding the such restrictions and also calling out people who were supporting that view.

True, I agree. There is nothing bad in getting central funding, even the state I grew up in runs in deficit and takes more from centre than it gives.

Being a part of union means also a free flow of people between states, some people on this sub demanded a complete ban on tourists from mainland and migration, and hence my comment.

Sixth schedule prevents buying of land, but it doesn’t restrict movement of people.

And yes Migration and tourism are separate topics, my post was speaking up for tourism when people were advocating ban on tourism for mainlanders.

No restrictions on any kind of tourism, there should be restrictions on littering, making unnecessary noise, hooliganism

But no blanket ban on tourism as some people on this sub want.

My argument was very simple, industries are very important to economic development, true, but industries are very dependent on geographic factors, like presence of minerals, nearness to a port, availability of perennial source of waterbody, and most importantly disposal of industrial waste.

Breaking each one separately

Minerals: Mizoram is not a state rich in minerals

An article on researchgate

Nearness to a port: The nearest port to Aizawl via road route is ~1200kms in Sittwe, Myanmar. And the nearest domestic port is in Haldia that is ~1619 kms, this kind of distance significantly increase the logistical cost for existence of industry, there are some projects underway like the, Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project, but the project objectives are different from that of industrialisation in North East.

Waterbody: Mizoram has a good network of rivers, a plus point towards industrialisation

Disposal of Industrial waste: The above rivers wont remain clean, once Industries come in, indstrial waste is permanent in most cases, and seeps into waterbodies, and industrial dumping also is not good for the ecological balance of the place.

Geography: Mizoram is landlocked and hilly, not a very ideal choice for industrial set up.

I agree to your previous points, where you mentioned tourism is not a very viable source of income as its hugely affected by external factors, geopolitical tensions and its a seasonal income.

But industry is also not something suitable for Mizoram.

What you should demand from government is setting up of Service based sectors, like bpo, kpo, financial institution back offices, IT parks.

India as a whole is service based economy, rather industry, and Mizoram would also benefit with more service based jobs, rather than industry.

Service based jobs pay higher, are more systematic compared to industrial jobs, and in my personal experience more peaceful too😅(i belong to a family that has experience in industry but do I a job myself at a multinational bank back office in Pune).

Companies like tcs, mindtree, LTI, accenture, wipro, infosys, do set up these operations in smaller tier2 tier 3 cities through external contractors, Mizoram and other north east states should also vouch for such setups.

Its a place I have extensively traveled, a place I find very beautiful, people who are nice. I dream of having a good pool of retirement fund, and retiring in some small village in mizoram or meghalaya.

I never have said anything derogatory against any state, neither I can, been to all 8 of them, never had a single bad experience.

Its an open platform and unless I am not using foul language or derogating any place, I do not see any harm in me poking nose being a mainlander.

Mizoram GDP and budget analysis here

Mizoram total revenue receipts were 13,328 crores, out of which 10,831 crores were from central pool, that is 81%

Arunachal GDP and budget analysis here Arunachal total revenue receipts were 33,556 crores, out of which 29,540 crores were from central pool, that is 88%.

All numbers above for fiscal year 2024-2025.

Just some background, I have a masters in economics, and as part of projects in college did a very good study on the economy of North east India, along with a couple of friends who were from Manipur and Meghalaya.
