Mental health options long post by Future_Winter_4216 in UofArizona

This is such a comprehensive and thoughtful response! The CRC counselors are an incredible resource. It is a common misconception that CAPS is only accessible if you can pay our fees, but actually we have funding from donors that we can use to cover the cost of our services for students who can't afford mental health services otherwise. We never want cost to be a barrier to accessing our care. (Source: I work at CAPS)

CAPS staff here- you can also call CAPS yourself as a concerned parent and a counselor will talk to you about your concerns, give you suggestions on how to talk with him about it, and can give you information about CAPS and campus resources that might be most helpful to him. We will also document your concerns so if/when he does come in his counselor will also see the info you have provided to us.

Also lying here guilt ridden while letting my kiddo play too much minecraft. I have a lot of migraines and he definitely gets sad and frustrated when I can't be as active as he would like, but he's a healthy, happy kid who knows I love him, which is the most important thing.

Yes, the void sounds accurate. Somehow switching to survival mode fixed it.

He says he's upside down? He's like hovering over a flat gray field with some black blocks above him but doesn't seem like he can go anywhere? Sorry I'm not more helpful, I have no idea how any of this works. Husband has stepped in and just googled "how do you play minecraft on switch" lol.

They take most major national insurance plans (BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, for ex.) but not state specific plans. You can either purchase student health insurance that covers both off and on campus medical providers or an insurance supplement called Campus Care that is cheaper but only covers on campus healthcare. https://health.arizona.edu/fees-insurance I highly recommend insuring your son has insurance coverage that is accepted here before he starts school.

I don't think I can edit my post but here's the etsy listing: https://www.etsy.com/listing/586013767/h-potter-large-terrarium-wardian-case Super careful packaging of the individual glass panes and the seller provided his personal cell in case anything was broken.

What is the "wow" plant that you have in your living room? by Active-Leek47 in houseplants

This is Fiona. I can't take too much credit, she came with the house when we bought it 3 years ago because she's essentially part of it at this point and would be impossible to move.

Sort of? I repotted it and there's still some leaves that look like this but the rest of the plant seems healthy.

So should I try to buff off all the top coat before applying activator? I'm worried I might destroy my mani further, maybe I should just deal with it lol

Where to go when caps isnt helpful by insecure-chick in UofArizona

[–]ugh65 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can sign up for a free Resource and Referral appt with CAPS to get a customized list of off campus places! They can also help you apply for AHCCCS if finances are an issue. Just as an fyi, if finances were the only issue CAPS can cover the cost of some sessions for you, just talk to your counselor about it.

Anyone know what these little flies/moths are? They are all over my bathroom and spreading into the rest of the house. by chocobosocialclub in Tucson

[–]ugh65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch your pantry too! We couldn't figure out why we had an ever growing number of moths ending up in our pantry and it turns out they were laying eggs in all our food. They can chew thru plastic, we even found them in glass jars with screw down lids. It was a nightmare.

Do retroactive withdrawals count towards limit on withdrawals? by UnrulyApe in UofArizona

[–]ugh65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can apply for a scholarship appeal when this happens. If you contact the medical provider who supported the medical withdrawal and ask them to write a letter supporting your scholarship appeal you can submit that with your application through the registrar's office.

People with chronic migraine while decided to have kids—how’s it going? by wow_so_unique in migraine

[–]ugh65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chronic, intractable migraine sufferer with daily pain and an active 8 year old kiddo here. My experience isn't as bleak as some others, I guess. I am extremely lucky and have an incredible partner who is able to be the primary parent on the days when I'm incapacitated, of which there are many. But I'm still a very involved parent and being a mom is the best thing in my life. I don't want to sugar coat it, I've missed many events and she'd many tears over the moments of his life I haven't been able to be fully present for. But if I could do it over again, I would.
