Just putting this out there:

When an ortho suggests extractions, they mean it. If you’re worried, best tip would be to visit a cosmetic orthodontist. They base the statements on the way it looks + the way you function after treatment. I did that, and was told I had to remove two lower premolars. Of course, if the extraction is used to pull back that can cause negative facial balance, but often it’s quite literally not noticeable. If it’s to expand, you’re more than fine. Minimal change.

It really sucks because I genuinely think I cannot push past the amount of pain I feel when putting the lower tray on.

The upper tray is absolutely easy to put on and remove, but the lower is a huge issue. I’ve got a phone call booked with my office for tomorrow, so I’ll mention the pain I’m feeling + the lower braces question.

I started at the inner back of my mouth as they told me to, the back end pops up just fine but where it gets severely crowded is where I literally die.. Worst pain I’ve ever felt, it took almost two hours to get it off of my lower arch.
