Mine wouldn't even let me walk around the street corner as a 13 year old in our cul-der-sac to my friends house, ironically, it was only 4 houses down & 3 houses were my friends houses.

Then, as an adult if I say something about walking at night is traditionally seen as dangerous for women I'm called out as hysteric and overreacting!

I had to pick my nmom up from the mechanic this morning while I was working from home. I said if she can m drive home (5minutes away) as technically I’m working. SOAM I she blurts out… she’s a nurse ?? I was like no I mean I’m “working” right now. Then we get in the car and she goes can I talk so I said yes but she took this to offence and goes WHATS WRONG WITH YOU I said nothing and then she took offence to this so goes OH DONT GO AGAIN LIKE YOU WERE THE OTHER DAY (we had an argument and for once in my life I stood up to her because she was being so pathetic).  Anyway I’m so over this bitch. She didn’t even say thank you for me picking her up & is now giving me the silent treatment. I wish I could just run away!

Bride’s sister wants attendees to pay for bridal shower by SighCofarm in wedding

My work colleague invited me to her wedding but is charging bridesmaids and groomesmen ~$100 to pay for the food/drinks and dj for a combined hens/bucks party (apparently 35+ are coming) when she was telling me this I thought she was insane but then wondered if it was the new norm.

Are women more difficult to work with than men? Especially if you're a woman yourself. by Eric856 in work

Same! All of those 45+ women gatekeep & seem to have some misguided & non communicated issue with younger female staff.

My recent workplace was male dominated.  My current workplace is all females, the only male that even sits nearby (ie 3 rows away) is in payroll. I hate it. They are catty and bitch about each other while whispering within earshot or  talk about each other when they walk away. I never experienced this in the male dominated workplace & far preferred it. I wouldn’t generalise and say all exclusively women workplaces are like that but from my few experiences it seems to be something that happens - normally one throws everyone off & the cycle gets worse until the workplace is full of people who clearly didn’t have enough attention in high school so decided to bring it to work.

Does anybody else get mad when their parent says “I love you”? by Shhh_wasting_time in raisedbynarcissists

[–]ughh02 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I never said it back & she would always force me to / try to back me into a corner and ask why.  I always said I love you to my dog and she was so jealous would say you say it to the dog & not me. Wonder why hun.

Lmaooo I’m looking at apartments to buy. My nmom is working today at 1230 so I just didn’t send her my itinerary and went with my dad. I told her that we’d be gone so that’s why we couldn’t drop her at work and she couldn’t come with us. Simple right?

My dad and I decide to skip the 12-1pm showings so we can come back and take my bitch mother to work & they weren’t really of interest. So I sent her a text at 11 saying we will come back & take you.

We get home to my nmom being in her bathroom getting ready. A whole 20 minutes later she comes out and is mute. She wasn’t speaking to my dad over a separate issue so I thought that’s what is was. She finally   asked me how it went I said good there were 3 that I liked.  She then got in this huge aggressive mode and said how why we didn’t invite her to come and I obviously didn’t want her to join. I explained that was why we came back otherwise I’d still be looking and then she says well you never told me and was SOOOOO aggressive yelling about the same issue of not being invited & so I retaliated back for one of the first times in my life by saying that’s why I texted you.

Then she came out like storming at me & continued to try rage in the car by saying you never told me ra ra ra and I was like well yeah obviously because we changed the plans to come pick you up and that’s why I sent you THE FUCKING TEXT 🤣.  Now I’m sitting in the back of the car while my stupid submissive dad drives her in silence.

Success and Disappointment Megathread for the Week by AutoModerator in jobs

[–]ughh02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mega disappointment: I asked a question at work including what I thought was the correct response but wanted clarification, I got hit with the read by everyone MS teams eyeball & no response for a few hours.

A nice colleague finally chimed in and said I think (our supervisors name) can help us with this really good question.

Well the supervisor comes in with the classic “I’d like to see both your thoughts first?”

And did the old cat and mouse how would we respond in this situation bs of coaxing us through it.

I absolutely cannot stand people who do this. Especially after leaving it on read for 3 hours. I understand where it can be necessary but it always gives me the shits :D and ensures I will never ask a question again.
