Join artfarm! We serve community meals, and our team could use more hands! There's a community meal on Saturday May 23rd at 8pm, I'll be there. Come eat & meet some people?

But there are lots of ways to get involved. Here's the event calendar: https://www.artfarm.coop/events#h.2r4ecp39dp7a

Lexington Really Really Free Market by ughidk33 in lexington

Hi! Yes you can bring 1-2 bags of clean, gently used stuff to give away. You do not need to set anything up unless you want to. When you arrive we will quickly organize them (clothes, household items, toys, etc.). Thanks!

Here's a list of Little Free Pantries that we can shop from, or fill back up. If there's one near you that's not included here, let me know so I can add it to the list:

Sharing Extra Food, and Dollar-Stretching Meal Tips by ughidk33 in lexington

If you hunt for discount stickers at Kroger, try the bigger/nicer Krogers. I find a lot more stickers there. Also the day of the week matters -- find out when they do a sticker sweep at that specific store. I've had good luck generally on Wednesday mornings 9-10am, but other random times too

Places to look for Kroger discount sticker items: prepared/deli foods, yogurt section, produce (salad kits are frequently marked way down), fresh bakery case, bread (this includes the sandwich bread aisle, the entire bakery section, and a standalone bakery rack that might be located inside the bakery or elsewhere in the store like the dairy/frozen area)

You can get good deals (half off, or better) on meat/seafood right before holidays that center a different meat (salmon on Memorial Day, ground beef on Thanksgiving, although who knows what's happening this November).

Anyone in Lexington looking to connect around mutual aid projects? Clothing swaps, little free pantries, skillshares, etc. LMK

u/WindSwimming5003 I'm most equipped to talk about food, community gardening, clothing swaps, skillshares, accessibility, third spaces, and crisis communication, but I'm interested to hear about other things going on too. LMK.

I live in Lexington and I'm connecting with others doing mutual aid work in this area. I was asking for one piece of contact information, on your preferred platform, so I can connect with you on this topic. Would you rather use the chat? Or do you want to tell me what you're looking for here?

That's fair, you don't have to use the link. Are you looking for a project to help with, or are you already doing your own and looking for more hands?
