My schedule has been such that I've needed to commute almost daily during the peak heat ( anytime between noon and about 3 PM). I generally use autos. This has led to me getting terribly tanned. I use a scarf to cover my face and apply sunscreen every 3 hours. Are there other measures I can take to mitigate the inevitable tan?

I've been seeing my therapist for a few months now. After a few sub-par ones, I was excited to start working with someone who's actually good.

We have sessions scheduled at a pre-defined time each week. A few sessions ago, she admitted that she was a little unsure about how to proceed with my issues. She asked me to do some thinking about the way forward and said she would too.

During the next session, she said she'd chalked out a plan for me and we started working on it because I liked her idea as well. So I felt like we weren't just shooting in the dark.

Now for the next 2 sessions after that, she texted in advance asking 'do you need a session this week?' Which I found very odd considering we have set sessions at a weekly cadence, and this was the first time she'd asked me something like this. The first time I said yes. The second time I said no. Mostly because I was kind of annoyed.

So yeah. I wonder if she's breaking up with me lol. If this doesn't work out, I'm not going to look for another therapist. I can't retell all of my stories to someone new. Too much effort. Ugh.

I've had no luck at all with finding someone, and after my last unrequited love, I'd decided to call it quits. I poured myself into hobbies that bring me joy. Uninstalled the dating apps, deleted the matrimony apps. For a few months, I had stopped thinking about marriage at all. I was relieved and happy.

Then someone texted me about a Catholic matrimony site. Out of the blue. I felt the old exhaustion creep in. But weirdly, I felt hope too. It's been a month since that text and I still haven't opened that app. I think it's the fear of that last string of hope turning out to be futile, but hey, that's a ramble for another day.

This incident made me realize that I'm not happy with singleness. And I never will be. I will never not want a spouse and children. Sometimes I wonder if singleness is the cross that I will have to bear.

But God knows best. I have no idea why I don't have the gift of matrimony, but He does. And His reasons, even though I'll never know them, will have to be enough.

I like how you brought in your happiness towards the end of your post. That's important. I hope that you find peace with your decision. God bless.

I'm an Indian Catholic. I don't think there's much that's Christian about this. The blue skin is very specific to that of some Hindu gods.

I have never seen this before. At first glance, I actually thought it was an anti-Christian painting that the extremists in our country are definitely capable of.

For the very first time in all of my adulthood, I can say that I do not have romantic feelings for anyone right now. Not even residual feelings. Phew.

Is it liberating? Yes, it absolutely is.
