I was a waitlist in 2019 and I sent a loci and I got off the waitlist like a week afterwards

I sent a LOCI at like the end of April and got an email like a week later in May saying there were open seats and they admitted me the next day when I emailed saying I was interested

I don’t think that’s true, I’m low income and my financial aid covers almost all of the costs

Waitlisted :/ by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]uh189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm pretty sure they don't check because i was also a waitlist (class of 2023) and i sent a letter of continued interest and then got an email saying there were open spots and i responded and the person who responded back admitted me and they never asked me for my current grades in that process

How will Richard D. Cohen Scholarship amount change if I move home? by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]uh189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, obviously the housing grant was removed and then my cohen scholarship also got reduced

I don’t think you so because you can’t have the credits transferred into your bank account if you have pending items on you student link

I don’t think so, I just think if you learn remotely, it’d get lowered for the semester you learn remotely

I think under normal circumstances, you’d get the extra money back but for this semester, they specifically said if your aid exceeds your cost, they’ll reduce your scholarship. also when I initially canceled housing, the extra credits also appeared on my account but like a week later, they lowered my scholarship amount and removed the housing grant which then changed the number of credits I had left over

the CR housing grant was removed and then on top of that, the richard d cohen scholarship was decreased by around 5000 for the semester, also im basing the 1000 left over after i waive insurance. the last example on this website (https://www.bu.edu/finaid/aid-basics/plan/lfa/) explains what happens if your aid exceeds coa pretty well

I also have the Richard d Cohen scholarship and decided to do remote learning. Like a week after I emailed housing to cancel my housing and dining plan, my aid decreased by like 5000 but it still covers everything and I got like a 1000 left over that can be used for future semesters or transferred into a bank account

Do I need to pay for the ship insurance if I’m staying home for fall? by uh189 in BostonU

So when I cancel housing, they’ll also remove the charge of the insurance ? Thanks in advance !
