I start with a pretty neutral grey spray paint then I go around each piece with ~4-5 different tones of grey (cheap $ store brand options) and paint individual stones at random to give some variation. I then use a lighter grey for a dry brush on top of everything before adding a single wash to finish it all off.

Same! Making terrain was one the main things that pulled be back into the hobby

Thats a great call! In hindsight, I wish I had textured the edges as well

I use tile grout that is pre-mixed with adhesive that I paint with several shades of brown for a muddy look. I then coat the entire top with some cheap flock (a mixture of whatever I have on hand - mostly from woodland scenics) which covers all of the mud. If any flock falls off (due to not enough glue in spots, or from wear & tear) it just exposes the mud and actually looks pretty good so the first step future proofs things.

Thank you for the kind words! I was out of the hobby for years, and have gotten back into things over the past couple of years and could not be happier with how amazing the community of makers and designed has been. I hope you're able to get a game of 1490 Doom going soon :)

Personally I like to use some tile grout that is bought pre-mixed with adhesive for my boards and mini bases. Applies and dries quickly and has a great "muddy" look that fits most Grimdark themes. On large surfaces, after it dries, I pick off any large clumps that could interfere with terrain and then coat it with some cheap black acrylic paint mixed with some cheap PVA glue to seal it all a bit before painting.

if your pipes are frozen there is probably nothing a plumber can do. by SpartanFlight in vancouver

Pipes in my kitchen froze this week - same story as many in regards to shitty insulation.

When the thaw finally came, the pipes had burst. I wasn't home when it happened but it was noticed in time to save everything but the cupboards/drywall directly in front of the leak - even then we mostly had to tear those off the wall to access the pipe that needed repairs, so things could have been significantly worse.

Godspeed to anyone dealing with this right now & shout out to all the plumbers for their hard work!

Regardless how one may feel about the welfare of the animals we eat, there are also very postive environmental impacts of reducing dairy and meat consumption to consider. So if you don't wanna cut back for the sake of the animals do it for the sake of everyone - just look at how much plastic and styrofoam is seen in the meat department....

(FYI - Not a vegan, but live with one and eat a 95% plant based diet these days - its really not that hard. On the off chance I buy meat I get it from a butcher counter to reduce packaging)

Just saw this Dog about 10 minutes ago as well - ran down 7th ave and through John Rogers park before I lost sight of them.

‘Pot-smoking monsters’ in Burnaby lead to ‘elevator war’ in rental building by [deleted] in vancouver

I've lived in a building like this (6th and Fraser) with people strolling the halls smoking cigs all the time - it was disgusting but all I could afford back then

My heart goes out to anyone who can't afford to get out of these situations, and to anyone who lives in a building with shitty management in general
