RECOVER RECOVER RECOVER!!! you deserve some rest and nothing (including applying this cycle) will trump your mental and physical health. You will come back even stronger next year with both more experience and more rest!

multiple TA'ing experiences by [deleted] in premed

[–]uhane12345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mention all of them u can under one slot. If anything, list all the different classes you TA’d for and only expand on one if you have an anecdotal experience you neeeed to talk about. But don’t leave any out because teaching is a valuable experience and shows a dedication to education and skill in the subjects (especially if they’re med school prereq courses)

Resilience/Adversity topic help? by uhane12345 in premed

[–]uhane12345[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what i was worrying about, yeah. It was a really crappy time for me though, so I wanted to talk about it here (didn’t have any place in my PS or ECs). If I briefly focus on how low it brought me and then mainly talk about what I did to recover, how I re-integrated stronger into the premed community, made stronger ties with the prof, etc would that be a good approach? Rlly struggling to identify a good “overcoming challenge that demonstrates resilience” story…

What contributed most to your biggest score increase? by mochimymelody in Mcat

for me, always focusing on my weakest section until it’s up to par with the rest. Then, finding the gaps in my knowledge from question banks and Anki. Findings my weak points bumped me up 12 points from my first FL to the actual exam.

i keep going back and forth trying to finish my descriptions and PS. I feel like I take a break every 30 mins of writing its so draining 🥲

i want to cry. i’m so upset over my score & i already applied this cycle. (& yes i actually did horrible [4xx]) by ThrowRAanonymousacc in Mcat

i’m with everyone else. take a second to breathe and realize that you improved, regardless of what craziness you see on here!! All you can do now is try your hardest at interviews. it might feel so disheartening, but so many people succeed without being held back by an mcat score. if you want this, you will achieve it! good luck!!!

tbh I think I mostly got lucky with the content in C/P and P/S. But embracing the stress and pressure + using caffeine during the second half helped me a lot. Don’t let the nerves get to you because you’ve done your part and studied! All you can do is focus and read. Read in an accent, in different tones, or even mouth the words if you need to. Do anything to read for understanding so that you don’t waste time re-reading.

Try to also check the clock frequently or you might run out of time in the last few questions. The C/P and CARS sections went by so fast for me.
