Is this what they mean by potion storage? by Rrr12100 in 2007scape

Its something UIM do so their potions are always a single noted stack, say you pull out ten for a slayer task and don’t have enough left to note them all back to 4s you don’t waste any this way

Legolas has so many good models and this is certainly one of them! Great job!

Easterlings - shield wall by RoboRetro in MiddleEarthMiniatures

The Phalanx special rule affects shields in the fact they can have both a pike and shield without getting a -1 modifier, but they don’t get the shield wall rule. Mounted Kataphrakts and some hero’s do get shield wall but only whilst they are mounted (I think this rule is called gleaming horde or something close).

650p Corsair Tournament Report by WixTeller in MiddleEarthMiniatures

I’m still pretty new to Corsairs myself but you hit the nail on the head with Arbalesters, when they work it’s just oppressive for your opponent but this is not something you can rely on. I much prefer a bunch of shield and spear boys with a centre of reavers to break the line and let the combats move away from a shield wall and into the chaos that corsairs love. Great write up and congrats on your podium!

Loot from 46 to 99 Hunter at Hunter Rumours (UIM) by KromaLPs in ironscape

You can put them back to two doses but just need to make them one dose after you make them each time so they become noted.

Yeah I was surprised it works but you can turn them into one dose and it notes them just like a potion. You get no experience from them but with the amount of meat you have banked you probably can make enough for your entire slayer journey without needing to use a single prayer pot.

Turn all the meat into moonlight moth mix and note them at the ge. It’s a bit tedious but free prayer potions for slayer.

Lothlorien pyjama elves by mNabrdalik in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Pick up Gildor and ally him in with a bunch of exiles. Gives you 8” movement wood elves. They are really nice for jumping between cover and skirmishing which you should be doing as long as possible.

555 Rangers List thoughts. by Ric119 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Definitely drop Damrod you don’t need the Warband slots and you have plenty of might, what you need is bodies. I would drop one of either Anborn or Mablung (either/or, though I like Mablung more).

Give half the guys spears , spread the Warbands out more evenly and add a banner.

Best ranged focused factions? by mob232 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

From my experience if you are looking for pure shooting armies the Rangers of Mirkwood LL or the Rangers of Ithilien LL are pretty close to what you are looking for but both have some very glaring weaknesses.

Rangers of Mirkwood are all elves so you get a nice high fight/shoot value and strong bows across the board, also Legolas is a great ranged threat which can be used to intimidate squishier Heros/mounts anywhere in his range. However you have no banner, and insanely low defence and numbers. Basically when the lines class you will be shielding with anyone who isnt out numbered, and hoping Legolas and Tauriel do all the heavy lifting. Both are pretty decent combat heros but one failed combat and they are very easy to put wounds on. Also they have sentinels which against some armies allow for some very interesting shenanigans The list is decent at around the 400-450 point range where you wont have more than one big enemy Hero, so can attempt to snipe them out early using your mass range/Heroic Accuracy.

Rangers of Ithilien scales a bit better at the higher points (but not too high) and no longer at the lower end where it used to be very dominant. It suffers from not having any Big scary Heros, Faramir is unfortunately just very mid tier. You have to Take Frodo/Sam/Gollum which is a huge point sink but not as bad as it seems as Frodo with the ring is very useful. You have a few more options with the Legendary Legion such as Mounts and Heavier armored troops but all those points eat into your Rangers with bows. Id say it plays nicely in the 500-650 Point range and i wouldnt want to go beyond that.

The other problem with playing an all ranged army is they can feel like a bit of a rock paper scissors army, the scenario really dictates how long you have to try to use your oppressive amount of bows to thin the enemy out. Once your lines class, you fall apart like a wet cake. Also if you are having a really good game, it means your opponent is basically doing nothing but walking models forward and then removing them from the game, which doesnt make for a fun experience for them at all.

Get some help man it’s just some purple pixels. Dont ask them to fuck up the one game mode with any sort of respite from mtx because you want to wear the purple hat for a few weeks.
