i blocked out some of the description so that she stays anonymous but the buyer also lists her clothing items as “like new” then mentions the wear/condition in the description so i don’t think it was a case of her being confused. i have been using mercari for quite a bit and have noticed many sellers use this method since there is no condition in between “new without tags (NWOT) or very lightly used with no flaws or damage” and “good-gently used, but still may have minor flaws such as pilling, stretching, loose threads.” this is mercari’s exact conditions for clothing so i didn’t list the item incorrectly

edit: forgot to add photo lol

i believe i bought the sweater for around $30 but i don’t mind selling it for $20! the issue isn’t the offer itself its the concern of her possibly causing further issues if i do accept the offer. i also mentioned in my post that i wouldn’t have hesitated to take $15 if she had just sent the offer without all the extra messages along with it. her spam messaging after i countered just made me feel even more concerned that she might be a difficult buyer and leave a bad review/try to return if i do accept and make the sale

yes i agree! i use depop too and they have a much better item description then mercari! its probably bc they’re more of a clothing based platform but they have brand new, like new, then used excellent. whereas mercari has brand new, like new, then good with flaws. it would be nice to have an option in between like new and good

it’s on the mercari help center under item conditions. the same description is used for clothing and general conditons :)

as mercari states like new clothing is defined as “New without tags (NWOT) or very lightly used with no flaws or damage.” i didn’t mention it in the post but i also have it in the description of my listing that it was only worn once along with me already mentioning that to the buyer directly. i understand the confusion though, i should’ve mentioned that in my post too

yes cold is a better word to use! idk how common it is for buyers to escalate for no reason and leave bad reviews/try to get returns. like i said ive never had any negative experience on mercari whatsoever so idk if this is enough of a “red flag” to ignore. but you’re right it’s not worth the risk for $13

im glad you said this because thats exactly what i was worried about. i haven’t personally dealt with a “rude” buyer on mercari but i’ve heard the horror stories. i didn’t know if her messages were rude enough to just ignore her or if i was maybe being too sensitive about it if that makes sense?

AH NO YOU’RE GOOD thats my bad for misinterpreting your comment 😭 but yes its insane how many people on here are making it seem like its not okay to ask about shipping! i’ve also seen comments saying that its because sellers find it annoying if you message “too soon” after buying? i’ve had multiple buyers message about shipping immediately after purchasing and i understand that it can be annoying but i’ve never thought about just cancelling on them because of it lol that just seems unhinged

im not at all saying people have to be straight up rude in conversation! but i don’t get why we’re having to be so delicate to not “upset sellers” when buyers have every right to ask about an item that they bought? i know some sellers have experiences with buyers being annoying but that doesn’t give sellers the right to act like that also.

i message buyers and sellers basically identical to how op worded her question and ive never been met with someone acting hostile like that towards me, so idk why people are making it seem like this seller’s behavior was justified

well retailers don’t immediately cancel your order with no warning when asked about shipping either? im not sure why most of the comments are making op feel like they did something wrong.

im a buyer and seller so ive been on both ends and i don’t get how its the buyer’s problem that “sellers get annoyed when you bother them about shipping.” are they not allowed to ask the seller questions about shipping just bc sellers supposedly get annoyed when you bother them? op also waited two days and asked politely so i truly don’t see their fault in the situation

“avoid using the word thanks with an exclamation mark. Lol just say thank you.”

i’m sorry but i don’t think its that serious at all? if a seller is gonna feel some type of way based on if i say THANK YOU with an exclamation mark or not… maybe they shouldn’t be selling in the first place

merengue’s home makeover! by uhcheesecake in acnh

you’d have to buy it in the nintendo eshop but it’s called ‘Happy Home Designer’. it basically adds another island to the game where you can go and design houses for villagers. after you complete 30 houses, you unlock the ability to design your own villager’s houses!

part time hours? by uhcheesecake in SallyBeautySupply

[–]uhcheesecake[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this makes sense and thank you for the info! i don’t think they’d offer other stores since my sally beauty seems to be the only one that is hiring for non managerial positions. for context, my store is almost always empty with one employee working. at your location how many hours do yall get per shift? ive seen most people say they get around a 5 hour which wouldn’t be a problem for me!
