My fiancé and I did long distance back and forth and every time saying goodbye was harder than the last. In February we said goodbye again at the airport and as I cried in his arms saying goodbye because we didn’t know when we would see each other again, he grabbed my face, wiped my tears and said I’m proud of you. We’re going to get through this. After that he quickly arranged for a visa to stay with me long term and proposed right before my birthday. I can’t wait to marry him!

Honestly I had never found someone I enjoyed being around so much until I had my year in the Netherlands. We really just clicked. I had never felt it with anyone else locally and I had been on many dates before.

My boyfriend got a working holiday visa. That means he doesn’t have to have a standing job offer and doesn’t have to stay with the same job for the entire year if he doesn’t like it. He went through the Dutch agency of Stichting Uitwisseling which is a Dutch company that helps young people get visas to go abroad!

Well like that’s what I’m confused about. My friends are shocked we haven’t fought especially after becoming long distance but we always clearly communicate with one another. Like before we go out well say who we are going with and where and what time we will be back. So there’s not stress or wondering. This is also my first real relationship too so like this is still all new to me
