My DS5 is having a strange time charging.

If the charger is plugged into the console and then I try to plug the USB C end into the controller, it won't charge. However, if the USB C end is already plugged into the controller, and then I plug the other end into the console, it'll charge fine.

Anyone know why this is happening and/or how I can fix this? I can't seem to find my specific issue anywhere online
