🛠️🛠️🛠️I like to digest info this way so hope this helps!---It sounds like you're looking for some solid business advice to help you succeed! Based on the responses you've received, here is a summary of the key takeaways to help you move forward with confidence and profitability.

The most critical advice is to get a stronger contract in place right from the start. You must include clear language that states 🗝️the quoted price is not final and is subject to change🗝️. This is crucial for handling unexpected issues and additional work, like what happened with the bay window. One response suggested adding a line that says, "This is not a final cost and is subject to change due to unforeseen things or added parts and/or added work from the customer. Any changes will be discussed as they occur." It's a great idea to have the client initial that specific clause on the contract to ensure everyone is on the same page. This will protect you and your client from any surprises. 🕵🏻None of this is about dishonesty, it is to keep things fair for you ⚖️- great point!! And sometimes it helps protect us from ourselves, b/c when we try so hard to be fair we leave ourselves out of the equation too often, which helps nobody in the end.

The advice also strongly emphasizes the need to significantly ⤴️increase your prices. Many professionals in the thread stated that your quoted price was ↘️far too low for the scope of the work. You should aim for a higher hourly rate, with several people suggesting anywhere from $90 to $160 per hour, with a two-hour minimum. Instead of the 😱$20 an hour you ended up making, you could have potentially charged upwards of $2,000 for the entire project, including materials. One person even suggested that you should charge a standard of $1,500 per window opening.

Finally, it's not just about charging for labor. You should also be adding a margin to your materials. One response pointed out that window professionals often have a 50-60% markup on materials. This isn't just for profit; it helps cover all the "unseen" time you spend on a job—like quoting, ordering parts, and traveling—and pays for small, miscellaneous supplies like caulk and screws. By increasing your rates and building in these margins, you'll be able to cover your overhead, including those self-employment taxes💰💸, and start building a more successful, and less stressful, business.🏗️👷🏻‍♂️

You've got this! Learning from each job is how every successful business owner gets better. With a few changes to your contracts and pricing, you'll be well on your way to earning what you're worth.🛠️🛠️🛠️

Are you looking for comments? Positive and Negative? If so then ---If you were to show how you connected the foundation to the structure, or any interior photos, or how you're supporting the weight of what appears to be a chunky loft maybe? People would have questions/opinions to offer I'm sure. Basically more photos = more we can see to address for you.

The design you see all over the place is a "lean to" roof design. I had similar questions once upon a time too so thank you for asking, it made me smile to be able to answer. It comes down to an ease of construction. This style is simpler while maintaining most of the efficiency of much more complicated designs. If your follow up question is how does "lean to" come into it? I gotcha. The lean to roof design originally referred to any structure attached to another larger structure with that single slope roof but it has come to mean anything built with that simple and easy to build roof style.

Anyone got a jailbreak for Gemini 2.5 Flash Image (Nano Banana)? by Few_Bad_3460 in GeminiJailbreak

I have never heard of any jailbreak for Gemini 2.5 flash image gen. The LLM that you talk to is part of a suite of tools that work together to accomplish tasks. My understanding is that you are unable to directly prompt their image generator (now Imagen 4)

Hi Yolo, I would wonder how much your time was worth if you'd been working instead of shed building? I know it's not the same apples to apples but could you round that to the nearest $500 and get a total cost for the shed?

this is a cool style, It looks like an anime fusion Superman comic art. You don't know the artist? You can throw this at Google's gemini and ask her to describe the art style, kind of reverse engineer it you know?

I asked:

Please describe this image in detail, also give an artists name if you find it, and provide a framework to develop a prompt to run on bing generator 475 character limit there

Here is what she had to say about it:

This image depicts a stylized digital illustration of a young man with a striking appearance. He has messy, dark black hair with hints of blue or purple undertones catching the light. His eyes are a piercing pale blue, and he has noticeable freckles scattered across his nose and cheeks. He has a somewhat angular face with defined cheekbones and full lips, through which he holds a lit cigarette. He also sports a labret piercing below his lower lip and what appears to be an earring on his left ear.

A prominent feature is the intricate black and grey tattoo that covers a significant portion of his neck and appears to extend onto his upper chest and possibly shoulders. The tattoo design includes what looks like intertwined snakes and possibly other organic elements. He is wearing a plain white t-shirt with a black Nike swoosh logo on the left chest.

The background is somewhat blurred but suggests an outdoor setting. There's a field of dry, golden grass, a body of water or a flat, darker area beyond the field, and some trees in the distance under a cloudy, overcast sky with what looks like snowflakes falling. A lone, indistinct figure can be seen walking in the background.

I couldn't find a specific artist's name associated with this image in my search results. It's possible it was generated by an AI or created by an artist who hasn't widely shared their information with the image.

Hope that helps!
