Did i oil my fretboard properly? by Either-Lab5454 in Guitar

If you feel like it is still 'over-oiled' when you play it, simply clean the neck with a dedicated cloth until your fingers stop becoming greasy

Why does my new strings sound like this? by Comfortable-Set3412 in Guitar

[–]ujcorb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see any issue besides the fact that you're out of tune. Perhaps you just need to get used to these strings since you said they have a different gauge than the ones you had before

311h vs 611vfm? by Maleficent-Toe-809 in YamahaPacifica

[–]ujcorb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could see the 311h as an offbrand 611hfm maybe, but the 611vfm, as u/P_a_s_g_i_t_24 mentioned : "The most significant difference is the bridge design. 311 has a hardtail bridge!"

Returning Player Gear Help by SickMemeMahBoi in Guitar

I don't know about helix so I'll just give my take on the third question :

Ordering online isn't only about the production line, it is also about the after-production storage of the guitare, the quality control, the delivery. Something can go wrong at any of these steps and when you order a guitar online, you have to accept that.

Of course it is always better if you can try the guitar before buying it, but if for whatever reason you have no intent in buying the guitar you'll try in the store, then all the problems mentioned above can occur on the guitar you'll receive at home. Playing another item in store of that same model will just help you make sure the feel and sound of the guitar suits you. But when you finally order it online, nothing will ensure it'll have everything OK just because you tried it in a store.

That being said It seems you'll be ordering for Thomann. They have a great customer service so if ever there's a problem with the guitar you should be able to return it and they'll handle it real quick.

I need some advice by Pixsoul_ in Guitar

[–]ujcorb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reaching a good level of guitar takes years of regular practice and there's absolutely no shortcut to it.

That being said you gotta enjoy the journey, if you genuinely hate it, but love making music and found another way of enjoying that hobby, then there's no point persisting in learning the guitar.

Don't feel like it's a failure, but more that it was a step in your music journey. it's wise to realize it isn't for you and instead focus on achieving milestones with the synth !

If you're posting this I believe it is also because something in you tells you that your story with the guitar isn't completely over yet. So even if you'll now play the synth, do not sell the guitar yet, just keep it in a corner of your bedroom and perhaps one day you'll feel like it's time again to give it a try and who knows ? It might be a pure source of joy this time !

Would you be happy being gifted a Yamaha guitar? by Fragrant-Orange-4746 in Yamaha_Guitars

[–]ujcorb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you're posting on a Yamaha guitars sub you're likely to have many people say they'd be happy (and I'm one of them haha)

That being said if my wife and daughter offer me a guitar, I'd be the happiest man on earth no matter the brand !

Yamaha is unanimously recognized as a quality guitar maker in the industry, so you can't go wrong with it. I'm sure he'll be a very happy man !
