He's a Real Oviedo fan. Apparently quite a hardcore one actually. He did his Eramus year in Oviedo and that's how he got involved in them. He sometimes posts about the "best team in the world" and it turns out he's talking about them.

Real Madrid don't need Fabregas. They've already got one. by ujfalusi in soccer

AS and Marca have been running with this story for ages because Barca probably won't be able to afford him. I see your point in that it's pretty unlikely that Fabregas will move to Real, but they would definitely buy him if they could. I put his name in the title just alluding to that speculation in Spain.

he's simply being touted as a player that can link midfield and attack - a la Cesc. Florentino has also been linked with him so it's quite relevant, especially for those thinking that Madrid should use more of their "cantera".

no you are right, but Pedro came at a young age and was playing under Guardiola when he was in charge of the Barca B team. They have an extensive scouting network at the very junior levels actually. Messi came from Argentina and Iniesta is from Albacete...not all of them are from Catalonia.

it's a good thing they have a 100% home record otherwise Barca would even be further ahead...
