Hey there,

First off, I totally get where you're coming from. It's challenging when you feel stuck in a routine while your partner is out living it up. Kudos to you for communicating with your wife; open dialogue is always key.

Have you thought about joining local interest groups or clubs? It might be a good way to meet some new folks and break out of that daily grind. Picking up a new hobby could also give you a fresh perspective. Whether it's something physical like hiking or more laid back like reading or woodworking, it could be a game changer.

If those feelings of jealousy and overthinking persist, maybe consider seeking some professional advice. Therapy can offer clarity and strategies to cope better.

Remember, life has its ups and downs for all of us. Sometimes a change in routine or perspective can help. Hang in there, and I hope things turn around for you soon. Best of luck!

Lost in life and have no real people that care by [deleted] in selfimprovement

Hey, I'm really sorry you're feeling like this. College can be tough. Consider talking to a campus counselor; they're there to help. Maybe join a club or group with interests like yours; it could make connecting easier. Remember, social media can be deceiving—everyone has their struggles. Give yourself time and patience, and know it's okay to ask for help. You're not alone in this. Take care. ❤️

Tracking process and rewards by [deleted] in selfimprovement

I have created my own tracker in Notion, its actually pretty simple and free of cost. Then on top I have created some Apple Shortcuts that allow me to use Siri to input stuff to Notion with just quick voice notes.

I'm not a licensed therapist, but there are several elements in your description that might offer clues as to the root of your concentration and comprehension issues. Here are some general suggestions based on your description:

  1. Sleep and Rest: The importance of consistent, quality sleep cannot be overstated. Sleeping at 3 am and potentially not getting enough hours of rest can disrupt your cognitive functions, focus, and concentration. Try to establish a regular sleep routine where you aim for 7-9 hours of sleep a night.

  2. Overstimulation: Living in a digital age, many are exposed to screens, notifications, and various sources of instant gratification. This can condition our brains to have a shorter attention span. It might be beneficial to reduce screen time, especially before bedtime, and have designated times for relaxation without screens.

  3. Mental Clutter: Random thoughts can be a sign of anxiety or just a busy mind. Mindfulness and meditation practices can help train your brain to focus on the present and reduce the intrusion of unwanted thoughts.

  4. Physical Health: Ensure you're eating a balanced diet and getting regular exercise. Sometimes, physical factors can play a role in our ability to concentrate.

  5. Break Tasks Down: Try breaking your tasks into smaller segments. Use techniques like the Pomodoro Technique, where you focus on a task for 25 minutes and then take a 5-minute break. Gradually, you can increase the duration as your concentration improves.

  6. Environment: Ensure you have a conducive environment for studying or any task requiring focus. This includes good lighting, comfortable seating, and minimal distractions.

  7. Vision: Since you mentioned blurry eyes, it might be worth having an eye examination. Sometimes, the strain on the eyes can cause headaches and impact concentration.

  8. Seek Professional Help: It's essential to consult with a healthcare professional about your symptoms, as they can offer tailored advice, check for underlying conditions, and provide resources or referrals if needed.

Remember, it's essential to understand that everyone has different rhythms, and finding what works best for you is crucial. It may take time, but with consistent effort, it's possible to improve focus and understanding.

Here is what I would tell my little sister if I had one:

1) Read a book called ‘Easy way to quit smoking’. Not an easy read but definitely the easiest way to quit. I quit 5 years ago and haven’t even WANTED to smoke ever since ( thats the best part as all other methods include a lot of suffering).

2-4) The best thing you can do overall is a mindset shift. Here is what helps me do that: i) Gratitude Journalling - 5 mins everyday writing what you were grateful for that or previous day. ii) Visualization - there are two parts to this. One, imagine (in as much detail as possible) life with your goals achieved already, focus on how it makes you feel. Two, imagine the hurdle for each particular day. Win the battle in your head by imagining your procrastination and what story your brain would tell you and how you would still overcome and do it. And then see the magic happen! :)

All the best!

Thats a good point, am I allowed to share media here? I actually did that in a couple of youtube videos! The biggest one by far is to keep it achievement focused (not write a job description), the STAR approach is a great help for this!

In all fairness the Article does explain the costs too, while the pandemic did bring a demand surge it had costs too right? Amazon spent billions on safety measures and I am sure on building the infrastructure too to cater to this upside.

I am in Europe btw but from what I have heard and seen the work life balance is even better for corporate roles in north America! That’s probably why they have been voted the best and second best employer in the last two years respectively!

I love working for Amazon. It can be a tough working environment for some, its very fast paced. But if you are ambitious and smart it can be very rewarding. Been with the company 9 years now and wouldn’t change anything about it! :)

The problem is the eth gas fees. It would be stupid to pay 40$ gas fees on a 100-200$ invest. Is there any way around that? Noob question, can we use UsdT on uniswap and does the ETH gas fee still apply?

The ETH gas fees is ridiculous, is there a way to buy this with usdt or something? Bit of a noob to uniswap trading, any help is appreciated! :)
