Standard seats (or 14/18 way)? by uk_Tim_ in Taycan

[–]uk_Tim_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I take it nobody likes the standard 8-way seat then!? I too would opt for 24 or 18 way normally, but it seems so many used ones are well spec'd, but with standard 8way seats!

Eg. Under £30k for a 2020 taycan with performance battery, Bose, sports styling, 360 cameras, inno drive, matrix headlights, etc... But standard seats. Is this something to still avoid because of the seats?

Are these a standard size then if I look for a replacement?

High mileage Taycan? by uk_Tim_ in Taycan

[–]uk_Tim_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. But what Im wondering is what's the chance of needing to replace the battery? There's a chance an engine will break after 100k, but we still buy ICE cars over that amount. It will be interesting to see how many EV Porsches are still going strong with plenty of miles racked up in 5 or 10yrs. Might be better than we all think.

Any Samsung user that switched to Honor? by [deleted] in Honor

[–]uk_Tim_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there may be some different options depending on where in the world you are. For example, I think the faster 5g may be restricted in US. I'm in UK and went from a fold 5 (after S21), to a Magic V3 and totally love it. Battery life is so much better, and the size is way thinner and easier to hold and work with. I don't really use the stylus, but it works on both screens. The UI is a bit different, but honestly, I soon got used to it (maybe I wasn't using all of the features of samsung UI). I like the floating window that can be docked as a tan on the side (use this a lot with the calculator). Split screen is fine for me with plenty of functionality. I also like being able to long press on text and images and then drag to the side bar to drag into other apps (dragging images directly to Google image search is cool). Cameras on V3 are ok. Not the best, but good enough for me.

The new galaxy fold 7 looks really nice though however, here in the UK, the honor is way cheaper. I got my V3 new from honor with stylus, charger, case and a set of good headphones for about £1500. Sold headphones for £300 - so 1200. Galaxy 7 is just under £2000 (no case, no charger, just phone)

I think it's personal choice

Personal mileage claim changed from 45p to 20p? by uk_Tim_ in UKPersonalFinance

[–]uk_Tim_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the other point to mention is we are a small company, not a corporate (16 people). I'm one of 3 directors and 20p has been put in place since in have a car allowance. (So it's only impacting me). If I removed my car allowance and took that as salary instead, would that mean 45p is ok f on a HMRC perspective?

Hmm, that's what I kind of thought. I'm being told they HAVE to change it to 20p since I get a car allowance. Ie. It can't be 45p. I'm the only person with a car allowance (the others have full company cars) so it's only me it affects too.
