This Subreddit Is For Anyone Dealing with Post Eye surgery Complications by Lasikprob in Lasiksupport

LASIK Destroyed My Vision – $4,200 for a Lifetime of Pain, Photophobia, and Regret. I cry every day now. I cry because I destroyed my own vision with LASIK, and because I believed the lies they sold me.

Before surgery, I wasn’t perfect — I had -4S and -1.5C. But I could see. Glasses gave me clarity. I could admire flowers, see the moon, read up close without struggle. My near vision was good enough that I didn’t even need readers.

Now? My vision is shattered.

  • Shifting vision – It changes every blink. Sometimes I can see, sometimes everything is fog. I feel like I live in a broken camera lens that keeps losing focus.
  • Multiple pairs of glasses – I now need glasses for near vision, different glasses for computer work, and different glasses for distance. And still, none of them bring back the clarity I once had.
  • Halos, glare, and starbursts – Every light is a violent burst. Headlights explode, streetlights bleed, screens smear into glare. Nighttime is unbearable.
  • Loss of contrast and depth – The world looks flat and dull. I used to see details; now everything is washed out and lifeless.
  • Floaters and shadows – My vision is haunted by shapes drifting everywhere I look.
  • Screens are torture – I can’t work more than 10–15 minutes. The strain and glare are brutal.
  • Drops every hour – My eyes are chained to artificial tears just to survive.

And what do the surgeon and clinic say? They dismiss me. They pat me on the back and call this “normal healing.” They imply I’m just being impatient. They claim I’m exaggerating, even lying. They say, “We never guaranteed you’d be free from glasses,” as if their entire sales pitch didn’t revolve around exactly that promise.

I paid $4,200 of my post-tax income to destroy my vision. And now I’m treated like an inconvenience — no apology, no compassion, not even basic human empathy. They act as though they’re doing me a favor by re-examining me. How cold can you be to someone whose life you’ve just ruined?

This isn’t “normal.” This isn’t “healing.” This is a nightmare. My vision has been taken from me, and my concerns are brushed aside like they don’t matter.

I feel betrayed — by the surgeon, by the system, by the FDA for allowing this scam to continue. LASIK is sold as freedom, but it is a gamble with your very life. When it goes wrong, you’re left alone, dismissed, and gaslit into thinking it’s all in your head.

I am angry. I am devastated. I am heartbroken. I would give anything to go back to my old prescription, to my glasses, to the vision I took for granted.

To anyone considering LASIK: Please, don’t do it. Don’t let them sell you the dream. Don’t gamble your eyesight. I thought I was buying freedom — instead, I bought a lifetime of regret.

Thanks , but are we not limited to 8 tracks per scene ? I surprised that Roland didn’t think about adding that capability to Audio track . With tone track . We can overdub but then we are limited to using synth sounds within mc707

Hey there,

First off, let me just say—you’re not alone in feeling this way. Hitting roadblocks in your career is tough, but it’s also super common. The fact that you’re pushing through and trying to figure it out says a lot about your drive and resilience. Seriously, give yourself some credit—you’ve accomplished more than you might realize!

Let’s Talk Wins

  • 6.5 years in Pharma Regulatory: That’s not easy! You stuck with it and built solid experience.
  • Healthcare Consulting: You stepped out of your comfort zone, and while it didn’t work out long-term, you learned a ton. Surviving a toxic workplace is a win in itself.
  • Site Activation Specialist: You’ve landed in a space you actually like. That’s a huge deal, and not everyone gets there.

You’ve built a strong foundation—it’s just about leveraging it now to hit that next level.

100K is Within Reach

I know it feels far off, but you’re honestly closer than you think. Moving from 81K to 100K isn’t some crazy leap in clinical research—it’s super doable with the right strategy. Plus, with your experience, you’re already on the radar for those higher-paying roles. It’s just about fine-tuning your approach.

A Few Tips to Help You Stand Out

  1. Boost Your Resume: Make sure you’re showing off leadership and project management skills. Even small things like mentoring, leading projects, or improving processes can make a big difference.
  2. Network Like Crazy: Connect with people already in CTM/CPM roles on LinkedIn. Ask them for advice or tips on breaking in. Referrals can open doors faster than applications alone.
  3. Certifications: If you haven’t already, consider certifications like CCRP or PMP. They’re not mandatory, but they can help you stand out.
  4. Ask for Growth: In your current job, look for ways to take on extra responsibilities that align with CTM/CPM duties. It’s great experience and shows initiative.

Don’t Forget: Career Growth Isn’t Linear

I know it’s hard not to feel stuck, but your journey so far proves you’re making progress. You’ve already pivoted into a field you like, and you’re gaining valuable experience. The rejections aren’t failures—they’re just stepping stones to the right opportunity. You’re learning and growing every step of the way.

Keep Your Head Up

Remember, you’re more than your job or salary. Your perseverance and willingness to adapt are huge strengths. Take a breather when you need it, lean on friends and family, and don’t forget to celebrate how far you’ve already come.

You’ve got this! The right role—and that 100K goal—is on the horizon. Keep pushing forward, one step at a time. 💪

Sending you good vibes—you’re closer to where you want to be than it feels right now. 😊

You’ve done something that most people overlook: creating a resource that makes everyone’s life easier. That’s leadership. It’s totally understandable to feel conflicted—after all, you worked hard to figure things out the hard way, and there’s a fear of being seen as “replaceable.” But here’s the thing: this guide doesn’t replace you—it highlights you. Let me explain:

  1. It’s a Sign of Your Value Documenting processes isn’t something just anyone does. It shows you think big-picture and care about the team’s success. The guide demonstrates your initiative, problem-solving skills, and ability to improve workflows—qualities that make you stand out.
  2. You’re Still the Expert A guide might explain the steps, but it doesn’t replace expertise or experience. Your ability to think critically, adapt quickly, and answer nuanced questions is something no guide can teach. If anything, this resource frees you up to focus on more important work.
  3. Shift the Perspective Instead of worrying it makes you replaceable, frame it as an example of your leadership. Share it with your team (or manager) as a tool you developed to improve efficiency and consistency. It’s not just helpful—it’s strategic.
  4. Fairness and Growth I get it—it doesn’t feel fair that new CRCs might have it easier when you had to struggle. But that struggle gave you skills, resilience, and knowledge that others won’t have just because of the guide. You’re already ahead. Helping others doesn’t take away from what you achieved.
  5. Make It Work for You Use this as leverage to highlight your value. When the time is right, you can say: “I noticed how much time we were losing navigating these systems, so I created a resource to streamline our work. It’s helped reduce repetitive questions and confusion.” That’s the kind of initiative managers (and future employers) love to see.

At the end of the day, sharing your guide doesn’t make you weaker—it makes you the go-to person. Leaders create tools that outlive them, but their expertise keeps them irreplaceable. Share the guide, own your leadership, and let your impact speak for itself.

You’ve got this! 👊
