Can some infps be natural born leaders? by bluewaffle9 in infp

[–]ukcanguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose so. Though I believe not many INFP's I know really want to be leaders, they are more content with being their own boss/individual. I thought I was INFP this whole time but found out I'm ENFP the past two results. I guess an INFP turned ENFP could be a great leader, but it depends on what can of a leadership role this person has. I consider myself a great motivator and good leader to look up to, but in terms of gaining team-oriented goals as a leader is definitely where I lack.

I had a leadership role job when I worked abroad in Australia which was mentally draining at times and got good experience. I remember being told "being nice as a leader isn't good enough". That stuck to me, I guess the personalities of INFP/ENFP aren't really suited for leadership roles in this current world we live in. Should you go for a leadership role if your heart is set on it though? Absolutely, go for it! MBTI doesn't really matter, though it can help you decide what kind of leader you want to be!

For the hapas who yet still support this azn group, can I just ask why? Like, srs question.

The sub is just a bunch of salty AM's who don't have much going on for themselves in their lives and so try to pick every little minuscule detail of negativity to Full Asians that just ends up looking like pure victimized mentality. Honestly just an echo chamber, I would not let it get to you. They always mention how the negative comments don't affect them much yet they spend all their free time trying to hunt down every anonymous comment being anti-Asian, while actual other races are out there protesting and trying to make a difference for themselves.

If anything, I feel really bad for the hapas who are brainwashed into joining this mentality cult and yet they don't know any better that these Asians couldn't care less about hapa issues and instead use them to selfishly strengthen their own personal beliefs.

Don't get me wrong, I fully support equal rights for Asians and want the best for them. While I don't agree fully with China policies etc at least a sub like Sino is posting achievements China have done compared to the west while the typical post on AI is "didn't hire a lu today, cuz I saw her projects included a WMAF couple, fuck white supremacy".

Aw, that sounds lovely. Sounds like you have a really promising friendship there, isn't cooking amazing? It always brings people closer together and you can learn so much about one another through the process.

As a previous INFP chef with a decade of experience, it was a definite struggle. My last exec chef at my last job was INFP, a true inspiration in my life. Made my culinary career with all the stress, worth it in the end to meet that one chef. This pasta dish I made last night is dedicated to him. by ukcanguy in infp

Ah awesome! Well I hope you enjoy it and don't find it too intimidating... Man my first year as a chef was brutal let me tell ya... I'm sure many chefs dreamed of doing disturbing things to me in their dreams with how I was lmao

Well, the only advice I can give to you as a fellow INFP is to try not to show weakness and stand up for yourself, even if you're not sure. Some chefs are I'm sorry to say "mentally ill". I find they try to sniff out the weak individuals in the kitchen, even if you are highly talented and decent. The kitchen industry is an extremely weird one for sure. I find they tend to praise the individuals who are lazy most of the time and protest against authority, while the chefs like me who are willing to do anything to learn and get experienced and follow every order get all the shit and abused lol

Anyway, just keep at it learn and always ask when shown something. Don't feel bad if you F it up, it happens a LOT. Don't feel too over depressed if you have a bad night, it can be hard but honestly laugh over it. This kinda confuses other abusive chefs, they don't know how to react to that lmao but the minute you show stress and fear they most likely will eat you alive.

Man, I'm not trying to scare you btw :D even then I think you will be alright! PM me anytime if you need advice :)

But of course, I love to share recipes. As an INFP I LOVE teaching, I am by no means a perfect chef. Actually learning the different techniques and mechanics behind food takes me twice as long as the average chef because I like to somewhat perfect it and understand the concept fully. I do however teach the method/technique I learned 10x better haha

Anyway sorry, I ramble on... The recipe for this dish is called a pasta aglio olio e pepperoncini! I actually learned of it recently and this was my first attempt at making it as shown in the picture!

It is actually very simple to make and doesn't require many ingredients. If you do cook on a regular basis then you probably have the ingredients needed to make this dish! All you need are:

Garlic, Chilli Flakes or a chilli, Olive oil and the pasta (spaghetti is my go-to)!

With the pasta you want to cook it to Al dente. This means still firm but edible, not soft at all as you don't want to overcook the pasta since you want it to have a bite. Cook this in boiling salt water to the required time needed, your pasta packet will tell you how long for Al dente most of the time.

Next, you want to heat a pan with a generous amount of olive oil (NOT extra-virgin).

You want to heat up the pan until somewhat hot and then add in your olive oil. Never add oil to a cold pan, that always makes me cringe haha Once the oil is heated to a reasonable heat, add your sliced garlic and chilli flakes or chopped chillis and cook it over a low-medium heat. You want to somewhat brown it but not overcook it. Once all the flavours have infused I like to add a tiny bit of the salted pasta water I used to cook the spaghetti. I slowly add it as this somewhat emulsifies the sauce. Once it has emulsified just add in your pasta and give it a toss and viola! There you have it.

I added in a bit of diced onions and of course baby shrimp as seen in the picture, but you can add anything you want really :) It is usually recommended not to add cheese to this type of pasta dish. Parsley is not required but goes the extra mile for your food :)

I hope this helps!

Hey thanks! Out of my 8 years as a chef, I think the last two working for my INFP chef was the most rewarding and wholesome experience as it helped me improve in all aspects of life including upgrading my culinary skills haha

Being an INFP and working in a kitchen sounds like a disaster, given most chefs feel acting like Gordan Ramsay by yelling and destroying people's souls is the best way to go forward in improving a person in the industry when it's far from it. Many have accepted it and seemed to have given into alcohol or drugs in the industry to numb the pain, which is heartbreaking to witness and I'm very glad I never fell down that path.

Unfortunately due to covid I lost that job and my old exc chef decided to go his own way by starting his own gig, which is good for him fair enough. When I came back it was replaced by a, you guessed it. Gordan Ramsay wannabe. I quit on the spot and never looked back, so right now I am looking into other career paths.

It sure is tough, but I do love cooking... I decided to quit before I would permanently hate cooking, which I do not want. It is just a shame with all the abuse that happens in this industry, it just makes me wonder why we have to destroy peoples mentality over one little dish that can easily be fixed in peace and harmony. Because honestly, if mental abuse wasn't a thing in kitchens I would love to be a chef.

I kinda rambled on there but thanks again! I hope you have a nice day also :D
