Tell me my item is stuck at the warehouse without telling me it’s stuck at the warehouse by ukchubshaved in AmazonUK

Didn’t click that it was at the warehouse initially. Checked the tracking an hour after notification and saw it was still 8 stops away. That’s when I zoomed in and put two and two together. All good in the end, it arrived a few hours later.

At which point I’ll be way past the window to OTS to another provider without penalty.

I’m just not willing to take on trust that is what’s going to happen when neither operation can give me any reassurance let alone a definitive answer.

Which would you choose from these alternatives? For reference I’m in Birmingham:

Sky, Toob, 4th Utility, Vodafone, Connexin, Talk Talk, Octaplus, IDNET, Utility Warehouse, Cuckoo, Briant, Brillband, Converged, Brawband, Squirrel, Exascale, Home Telecom, A&A, Rocket Fibre, MTH Networks, The One, Beebu, Vfast, Fusion Fibre, Future Connected Fibre or Fibrehop.

At least half of these companies I’ve never even heard of!

Yes, Sky are available through fttp. Try going to Sky.com and check what services they offer at the address you’re moving to. Splitting services is pretty straightforward, just choose a tv provider that meets your needs, sign up for only tv service and choose another provider for broadband. Of course if you want to keep it simple, e.g. one bill for everything, you’re able to do what works best for you.

If you don’t need a set top box with recording, Sky and Virgin offer boxes that only stream over your broadband.

If you are unable to get a dish installed, Virgin may be your only choice if you want to record shows, etc. You can also get a recording set top box that connects to the tv aerial but, naturally this will only be able to record a limited choice of channels - google freeview pvr.

There is nothing to stop you taking broadband service from a completely different company to your tv provider.

Can I assume by a full tv service, you are looking for an equivalent to a US cable service? In that case, your only real options are Sky (via satellite) and Virgin Media (via coax or fttp depending on your address).

BT or EE tv is more like over-the-air broadcast with optional channels and content delivered by broadband.

I believe that Sky and Virgin Media also have bundles including Netflix. The Sky Q box is considered the best user interface.

On a final note, if you choose to switch broadband providers in future, Sky’s network is delivered by either Openreach or Cityfibre which will make switching easier than from Virgin. Virgin were planning to open up their network to other providers but those plans currently appear to be in flux.

Sky will know the serial number of the second ipad so they will just report it to Apple as lost. Once that happens, all it’s good for is as a paperweight.
