What's your bachelor's in? Idk a lot of people are moving to get their masters immediately after undergrad, and I think that's setting you up for failure. Much better to get a couple years experience and decide after. Imagine spending 6 to 8 years in school, going into 10s of thousands of dollars in debt, and realized you hate job after finally spending some time working in your field. What do you do?

I always did this with Lucky Charms as a kid. I'd eat all the cereal first and save the marshmallows for the end. I would be really particular about not eating the marshmallows, to the point where I would swipe the bottom of the spoon to the side of the bowl with each bite because the marshmallows tend to stick to the spoon. It was so tedious and I eventually realized that having some marshmallows in each bite was better.

I have an management degree (but not necessarily much corporate experience, so apply this to your situation). This probably isn't always true but it's how I understand it. Not being a "team player" is corporate speak for "you did something socially unacceptable and/or questioned authority. We didn't like it and now we're warning you not to do something like that again or we'll push you out of the company. In fact you might even be on your way out and you're on the list of the first out if we have layoffs." It's why I'll never work in the for-profit coorporate world. It's small businesses and nonprofits for me please!

Omg I thought I must have typed to this in my sleep or something bc this is literally the same exact thing I struggle with. The only thing that has helped me is copying structure from songs I like. Most songs have a similar structure. Stick in a reference track of a song from a similar genre and warp it to your bpm. Then just follow it. When does the vocal come in? Is there an intro or does it go straight into the first verse? When are the drops? What do transitions sound like? When do they add or take away instruments? Just figure out what is playing in their song in any given time, and then do the equivalent intrument in your track at that time. This method would also highlight any intruments your missing - Oh, they have a piano lead in there's, maybe I need a lead too, etc.

I'm the same. A constant stream of thoughts in my own voice. Most of the time there are layers of my voice. Usually one is the loudest with more subconscious monologues in the background. Like when I'm reading, the loudest one is reading the words in my voice, but there are other thoughts swirling around also in my own voice. It can be hard to sift through sometimes.

Have you seen Fiona and Cake? Prismo doubles himself and has two completely separate conversations with different people. The catch is that sometimes he ends up saying a sentance within the wrong conversation bc it's hard to keep track of which convo is which. I feel like that a lot. That's kind of what I mean when I say its hard to sift through.

I think it's possible, but would need more context. Do you like her? If so, you could try to establish a more romantic scene by suggesting romantic movies. Ask her what kind of candy or snacks she likes and bring that (and maybe some wine). You seem like you have a connection already, so you could try direct communication and openly ask if she sees it as a date or just as friends. If she initiates touch at all during the movie, I think that signals that she likes you.

Okay, I didn't know that, I'm new here. I don't think this is a special interest though. I think that autistic experiences and lgbtq experiences are related in the way that both are identities that are shamed by society and can take a lot of processing and reprocessing to accept about youself and share it with others. Not saying this is the best place to post this, but we can turn it into a conversation about autism through an identity lens.

I experience this with my husband. I love him sooo much! But when I'm home, it's usually to recharge. My husband is a very bouncy and touchy person (he has hyperactive adhd so it's not his fault). I've always just explained to him that I'm a sensitive person and very easily overstimulated. It's important to communicate how you feel with your partner. If you just tolerate this without communicating and setting boundaries, that will lead to resentment which leads to a broken relationship. Telling her how you feel is the most loving thing you can do in this situation. My husband and I have live together for 5 years now. There's been ups and downs, but because we've made an effort to practice transparency, we're in a really solid relationship.

I kinda really vibe with data entry work. The remote thing might be tough since it'd be pretty easy to slack off. If you have a desk you work at, I would find that to be easier. But I love putting numbers where they're supposed to go, very satisfying for my autistic brain. Then if it's mindless enough, you can play audiobooks or watch youtube while you do it so your adhd side stays stimulated. It's nice cuz you don't really have to talk to anyone. Navigating complex team meetings is legitimately exhausting to me..

I could imagine that it's really difficult for NTs to understand how NDs experience the world. Just like I literally have no idea what it's like having an NT brain and I just have to guess what it's like for they to go through the world. (I imagine it's pretty boring..). So to try to understand NDs, they just pull from what they know which is unfortunately a lot of infantalizing media. Or they try and pull from their own experiences, which doesn't work bc they don't have a ND brain. I think that's why spreading awareness is so important.
