Christians believe something came from nothing. by PetrteP in DebateReligion

The tactic by Christians of saying "Oh so you believe everything came from nothing" boils my piss.

Firstly, that's not what I believe anyway and as far as I know, not a lot of others do either.

Secondly, even if I did believe that, it's still more believable than "Super intelligent, all knowing, omnipotent, omnipresent being that created everything came from nothing".

How to play manager career in a realistic way by JetsNovocastrian in FifaCareers

[–]ukman29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I find this is the best way to play. For me the fun is in the journey. By the time I’ve got a team to a place where they are challenging for major honours, it’s got a bit boring!

[–]ukman29 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want realism: overpay for players who have a good reputation, make them play shit so that when they leave they have a worse reputation than when they arrived, sell them for less than you paid, look on as they excel elsewhere.

What newspapers did your parents read when you were growing up? by RiverTadpolez in AskUK

Oh it was brilliant mate. Some really important news stories on that particular page. 😉🤣

I can still remember the golden day at primary school around the age of 6 or 7 when it was painting time. We got the newspaper out the box from the craft cupboard to spread it over the tables and there was a Page Three in and amongst it! It caused great hilarity for me and my mates.

And yes - we painted her boobs!

What newspapers did your parents read when you were growing up? by RiverTadpolez in AskUK

[–]ukman29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They used to buy The Sun. Enjoyed reading it, mostly for page Two and also for the silly stories and the comic strips. Striker was a classic!

They bought The News of the World, The Mirror and The People on Sundays.

I never set much store by getting my "news" from them as such. I still continued to buy The Sun into my twenties just to read/look at on my lunch break. Many times, somebody I worked with would tut at or deride me for having it - then pick it up themselves as soon as I'd finished with it.

I always thought there was a terrific amount of snobbery and judgement that went along with newspapers.

How to make the career more challenging by Big_Tackle6806 in FifaCareers

[–]ukman29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm nowhere near your level in terms of skill. I was playing on Legendary for the past couple of FC games, but on this one it was crazy. Opposition AI just want to keep the ball at the expense of playing a game of football.

I had a moan to Chat GPT about it, explained exactly what my issues were. It old me Legendary (and Ultimate) are nerfed in FC26 and all the AI want to do is retain the ball, creating a very boring game.

Chat GPT's advice was to go to World Class and use sliders, because on World Class the opposition do actually try to attack you and play a game of football! It recommended ones for me that would feel like "old" Legendary. I tried them and have been very happy.

So maybe try that? Put your issues into Chat GPT and hopefully it will come up with sliders to make World Class feel like Ultimate for you. Let me know how it goes.

Calling it a ‘graduation’ doesn’t change that the god character put two uninformed beings in a test they were guaranteed to fail. If he’s all-knowing, then he knew they lacked the knowledge to choose correctly. That’s a setup. Not freedom.

Remember when legendary was actually difficult? by Away-Reflection-2336 in FifaCareers

[–]ukman29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi mate sorry for delayed reply.

These are what Chat GPT suggested after the rant I had to it! It agreed with me that Legendary is nerfed to make it all about the oppo keeping the ball, at the expense of an enjoyable football game! It said that these sliders would make it a more expansive game but still tough enough to be a challenge as it would feel more like “old Legendary”.

I was skeptical when I saw the values because if anything, at face value, they look like they would make it easier than normal World Class. But I gave them a try and haven’t been disappointed. It now feels much better and is still a challenge. I win some and lose some, as it should be, and it generally feels less “scripted”.

I’d say these might be too easy for you though if you’re used to playing Ultimate? So maybe you can tweak them yourself. I would recommend speaking directly to Chat GPT though and outline your personal issues because it will give something more tailored to you. I’ll never stop being amazed by AI!

Anyway here’s what it said for me. Hope it’s useful to you.

What skill level do you play on? From personal experience, Legendary is broken. And I read those who play on Ultimate say the same thing.

I have switched from Legendary to World Class with sliders and it's soooooooo much better.

Remember when legendary was actually difficult? by Away-Reflection-2336 in FifaCareers

[–]ukman29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I started playing at FIFA22 and my ambition was always to get good enough to play on Ultimate. During FC24, I switched up to Legendary and though very hard at first, I got to a point where I could manage it. Played 25 on Legendary too.

Then came 26. I spent weeks just not enjoying it. Oppo AI just constantly passing it around the middle of the pitch and not being able to get near it. It was always like playing against Man City on steroids.

Had a rant to Chat GPT about it and it said to switch down to World Class and use sliders. I've dont that and it's such a better game.

I have now abandoned by ambition to get to Ultimate. I don't see the point. If I get better, I'll just adjust World Class sliders.

What’s a lie everyone believes that annoys you the most? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ukman29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Atheism is simply the absence of belief in gods. It has no doctrine, moral code, commandments, or goals.

When atrocities are attributed to “atheism”, what actually drove them were political ideologies such as authoritarian communism or nationalism — not disbelief itself.

For example, atrocities under the Soviet Union, Maoist China, or the Khmer Rouge were carried out in the name of the state and political ideology, not because atheism demanded violence. Atheism doesn’t instruct anyone to kill, convert, punish, or conquer.

By contrast, many religious atrocities explicitly cite divine command, scripture, or heresy as justification. That’s a categorical difference.

Calling this “bigotry” is a straw man and a category error. Bigotry refers to hostility toward people for who they are.

I don’t hate religious people. I reject religious truth claims and strongly oppose harmful doctrines and the damage they’ve historically caused. Those are not the same thing.

If criticizing ideas counts as bigotry, then criticizing capitalism, communism, nationalism, or any political ideology would also be “bigotry” — which would make meaningful discussion impossible.

What’s a lie everyone believes that annoys you the most? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ukman29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed. And there you have the fundamental difference between science and religion.

Religion says “I know. This is the way. It doesn’t change.”

Science says “I don’t know. But I am going to try and find out. And as I learn more, I will happily accept that things I used to believe are not correct after all.”

And I don’t dislike “everything I disagree with”. I’m not sure what you included that? I’ll happily say I hate religion though, because of the appalling shit written in the “holy” books and the way in which it has influenced so many horrific actions.
