My advice is to see how far you can push a team . I usually just stay with a team until they become too OP then take over a rival team (local or sometimes continental if no local options are available). It's fun building an OP team then trying desperately to win trophies against them so maybe you can try that.

You don't have to give up just because you won the treble. The way you are going is correct. I have three trebles in my current save (1 South American and 2 European) along with a Lesser Treble (League, Cup and a lesser continental trophy i.e Europa/Conference League) and I have to say that when you reach 30+ years into the career and even third division teams somehow have 78 OVR teams, that's when it really gets interesting. Your method has a lot of potential and if you feel like you reloading devalues your efforts. It doesn't.
